Panthers trade for Chiefs DT Tank Tyler

Jarrett will be our #2. I saw him make some pretty decent blocks down field the last couple of games. He has shown he can catch the ball when Jake gets it to him. I think blocking is the only thing keeping him from already supplanting Moose.

He is good for blocking because he cannot get off the line. He is always engaged immediately, thus he could be a good blocker, now if he can only run a route once in a while.

i don't get the hate and the argument that our 2010 and beyond is screwed because of this deal. he's a former 3rd rounder, 24 years old and has shown to be productive --- just not a good fit for the 34 defense. if everyone is worried about the future ramifications of the deal, think about hollis "brick shithouse" thomas is a 1-yr rental, hayden blows, lewis is a situational 32-year old dt and kemo is coming off a serious injury. next year i could see kemo and tyler starting with lewis rotating in.... and it only cost us a 5th. yes, you could find a player of this caliber in the 5th round, but the odds are pretty stacked against you, even in the talent-laden draft of 2010. granted, it's not like the trade is going to guarantee a playoff run this year, but it has solid value currently and for the future.

Other than him being from State, I have no problem with this move. I think it is a great move, and we need someone, so why not Tank.

Tremendous upside, and possibly years of productivity. With Jenkins out now, think how much harder it is going to be to get a decent DT as the Jets will be scouring leftover trade bait as well.

Right move, just wish they had pulled the trigger on this one much earlier.

I'm stoked.

The Chiefs are my second favorite team behind the Panthers, as I live only a few hours from the stadium.. so looking at this trade as unbiased as possible.. I think both team's "won" on this deal. We would not have gotten a better NT in the 5th round of this year's draft.. it's highly unlikely anyway. And the Chiefs got some value for a player that did not fit their scheme, and Pioli has more ammunition to build his defense or Oline next year.. we all know Pioli is dangerous with his draft picks, no matter what round they are. Good trade for both teams.

It will be a flat out miracle if Kemo comes back from this injury period. He is entirely to big for it not to cause him problems the rest of his life.

True..but he prob will have lost some weight when he comes back..he was 368 when was hurt..prob will get his weight to around 340

I don't think we have to cut anyone this week because of Dante Wesley's suspension. Didn't the Eagles have a similar situation with Vick?

I don't think this is true. Otherwise you would have a coach keep a goon around to make a boneheaded play so they could sign someone to the active roster each week. But this is the NFL so pretty much anything is possible.
