Rust doesn’t knock you back 3 yards on a run. The rest of the OL looked liked they were 7 yards downfield and Ryan got blown backwards on a good CMC run right at the start. He had another bad play right after. Until Sirles got hurt, Ryan looked like the weak link on the OL.

Those plays and others, including the penalty that nullified the long reception.

Looking like his play has fallen off in a year when he has a big cap figure makes for negative fan reaction. That really shouldn't surprise anybody.

Still the best option at center? Probably. But yeah, not what he used to be.

People who will make the roster that I thought would not make the roster in July:

DE Cox Jr. -- Man, he is beasting.  He will not be a 14 sack guy, but he is way ahead of where Horton was in year 2.  I like his fire and blood line.   This does not bode well for Hall, but he really does not look good.

DE Haynes-- the Panthers are much more situational with Haynes on the field--he can cover the flat and play rush end.  I like him.

CB Doss--I am getting the idea that he will make the roster and Seymour is gone.

S The other Cox-- I think he makes the roster along with Searcy, Adams, Gaulden, and Jones.  He is young and does not make many mistakes---

QB Heinicke--while he does not look great, he is versatile.

RB Barner--I did not think he would make the roster, but he is a gamer.

People who could be cut that I thought would make the roster:

DE Hall:  With Haynes and Cox Jr. fighting for spots with Peppers, Horton, and Addison, where is Hall's spot?  On PS or IR.

CB Seymour:  Thought man would help him....Not seeing it.

DT Norton--plays on roller skates.  Gets abused.

We have a different kind of owner now. There is no way he allows Amini or Kalil to start if there is a better player on the team. I just don’t see Tepper being the kind of guy that allows stupidity to effect his business.

QB Beer Man will win

RB Barner will make it as the 3rd RB.

TE Manhertz will be no 3.

OL wip; Moton will surpass Kalil no matter what. RT is the biggest question mark.

WR; T Smith will be here for only 1 year but Byrd will make the roster as the designated return man. The future is Fun, DJ, Wright, Samuel, and Byrd.

DE: Addison, Peppers, Horton, Haynes, Cox. Hall has been disappointing and Obada should imo make the roster but 1 more year under the program as a protected PS would help develop a little further(if no protection sign him even if he is not activated).

DT: obvious 4

LB: Norris over Jacobs, Carter Jr makes it, Andre to S

CB: Bradberry, DJax, Capt, Elder, Doss, Seymour

S: Gaulden, Adams, Searcy, Jones

Six at CB?  If I were Capt. or Seymour I'd be having sleepless nights for the next week or nine days.

Dante Jackson is a player

Curtis Samuel at times looks like the best player on the field

CMC looks like a different player this year

Captain Munnerlyn should be cut

We're gonna have to pay shaq here in a second

I would pay Shaq just to beat up Matt Kalil for faults advertising health.

Shaq is looking like TD did 3-5 years ago.

Jackson/Bradberry >>>>>>>>>> Worley/Bradberry

Poe/Short very stout in the middle

Easy to take him.for granted, but Luke is one of the best defensive players in the league and has been since he started.

Samuel/Funchess/Wright all looked really good.

Torrey Smith still has something in the tank. DJ Moore has flashed but needs some work. The talent is there.

Byrd should be our KR/PR. Worth a roster spot for that alone.

Moton looked like an All-Pro

Can see why TD & Ryan Kalil are retiring after the season. Still good but not great players anymore.

Cam NOT running in preseason except to avoid getting hit should be mandatory.

Hope Peppers still has something in the tank bc I'm still not sold on the DEs behind Addison & Horton

    • Just another 1st round QB that never paid off for the team that drafted them or traded for them. It's been like this since the SB began. 36 QBs have now won the SB & only 13 of them have been 1st rounders winning with their original team. Namath 1968, Griese 1972, Bradshaw 1974, McMahon 1985, Simms 1986, Aikman 1992, Elway 1997, Roethlisberger 2005, P.Manning 2006, E.Manning 2007, Rodgers 2010, Flacco 2012, & Mahomes 2019. Only 3 have taken longer than 5 seasons as the starter to win a SB.  4  6  5  4  6  4  15  2  9  4  3  5  2 [the years it takes for these 1st round QBs] 5  1  4  1  3  1  1  2  3  4  [10 of the 36 have won a chip with their 1st team that haven't been drafted in the 1st round. These are the years it took them as a starter] What stands out? Only 2 of these QBs have lost their first championship appearance. Elway took 4 years as a 1st rounder & Hurts took 2 years as a 2nd rounder. Of the 10 non-1st round QBs, 2 are 2nd rounders, 3 are 3rd rounders, 5 are 6th rounders or later. Please stop wasting time on drafting 1st round QBs with such a high failure rate. The remaining 13 QBs are traded or free agent signings. Stafford, Favre, Young, Williams and Dawson are the 5 trades. Peyton Manning & Tom Brady also won for teams as free agents on a short stay as well as being drafted. The lesson here is don't waste your franchise on farming up 1st rounders for the league, and steer clear of trading for a franchise QB. Stick to finding that championship QB by drafting them outside of the 1st round or through free agency.
    • I lost most of the respect I had for Fox in 2010. He should have resigned if he hated the job that much. Instead he stuck for his paycheck and let stuff go to hell.    I burned out on Ron too but my deal breaker issue with him was away from football and after he was gone from the Panthers. He may have been out of his depth but never quit on us.
    • From where they were one year ago to now, pretty incredible. I mean, say what you want about Vrabel he is no Jerrod Mayo.
