So How's Jonathan Stewart Doing in New York?

That's what everyone says about every washed up RB but the truth is a good RB will give you 3 a carry no matter what. We got CJ Anderson for less than Stewart is being paid and he does exactly that.

While I agree with the sentiment. I don't think anyone that watched the first half of our season last year could possibly see 3 yards a carry for even Ezekiel Elliot.
No running back should be getting hit directly after getting the ball.

Stewart showed the above average if not good back he can be once we started blocking well.

Stewart was washed up last year and had Shula as well. He then goes to NY and same results. Why you ask? Same problems different team.

There may be, but Stewart had pretty clearly lost a step in his last year here and as I recall he didn't get a lot of looks in free agency.

I think Stewart's a great guy, and even through a lot of injjuries he was a great player for us. But I also believe his time is up.

Wish him all the best but he's done.

I'm not saying he isn't. I haven't even watched him this year, but anytime a RB averages negative yards, that's not on him.

Understood. I'd want to know how much time he spent behind the first team line vs backups though.

The truth like how Shula ball is being played in NYC? Or the truth that you were totally wrong?

WTF are you talking about? You’ve spouted this crap many times and every time someone has proven with direct statements that say Shula is not calling plays. Do you have anything besides your “deep thoughts” that say otherwise.

i'm a big stewart homer and had no issues defending him in the double trouble debates years ago.

yes, stewart has slowly lost a step. yes, the giants oline is trash...and yes, shula is the oc. but there is a night a day difference between the declining stewart that we saw in carolina and what is on display in new york.

he will always be one of my favorite panthers, but the truth is he looks like hot trash right now.

that being said, i'm still rooting for one last highlight reel season from him.

Shula is coming up with the entire offensive game plan nit wit. My God have you even watched their games? It's Shula ball. Are you really that slow to think a OC that was two years removed of having the #1 offense in the nfl in the NFL would take a job to do nothing! Your stupidity amazes me. Like it or not Shula will be coming up with the game plan and will be calling plays by years end.

Like I said, your “thoughts”. When no other team wants you, and the first two guys turn the job down because they won’t be allowed to call plays, you take anything. Shurmer got the job because of his offensive mind and play calling. And your theory is he going to let Shula have control of his team. Whatever makes you feel good. Find me anything that says Shula has/will/or was ever intended to call plays. If you could, you would have done it the numerous other times your theory was shot to nothing. Including just now.

    • The term you're looking for is "malinger(ed)", and he didn't.  I'm not sure why Panthers fans act like jaded ex girlfriends.  The dude is clearly injury prone as his time in San Fransico also proves. It's not like he got to San Fran and stopped having problems.
    • My long and rambling post:   The guy is all heart, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he came back even better next year. He’s exactly the guy you lock up. The money won’t ever change the way he plays.  It was a big fumble, but what 1,000 yard back fumbles once in an entire season?  Pride. This team is FINALLY seeing guys who obviously take the game very seriously. Hunt, Chuba, Thielen, Brown, Horn (CB), Coker, Bryce (IMHO). Bye bye, Spider-Man. I don’t see these dudes being OK with teammates half-assing practice or in games. I can see Brown and Horn coming over to talk to somebody.  Good team? Ummm, maybe, but will still likely lose more close games than they win unless this last draft turns in to LOB part 2. That’s a stretch.  Pretty good/decent team. Yes. They finished the season as a pretty good team. I know I sound like a broken record harping back to it, but going in to ATL and putting a 40 burger on them en route to an OT win. A bad Panthers team would have had their brakes beaten off. We’ve seen it.  Rose colored glasses on and bonging a 40 of hopium: There are watershed moments that occur that change the course of franchises, both good and bad. If Fox doesn’t pull Rodney at halftime, the epic journey that was 2003 never happens. On the negative side, Cam taking that one hit from Watt was the end of any and all Panthers relevancy and we’ve been the biggest losers in all of pro sports as a result. Watershed moments. LOB draft. Vinny goes down and the goat is born.  Will the ATL game be the spark that this franchise has desperately needed? Could it be that they hit the mega million jackpot with Princley and Scourton as eat QBs for breakfast? Sure would be nice having 2 all-pro edge guys on the cheap for the next 4 years.  A lot of unknowns, but at least it actually feels  fun again.
    • Ok LT and Petersen are a cut above everyone else to me cmc and Faulk are interchangeable on this list.  though Faulk was better career wise
