cmc "doubter" here. I think he improved as the season went on last year and he looks solid in the preseason too but that doesn't mean much to me (preseason in general). I'm optimistic that hell be solid as runner this season as it would be stupid to think a rookie can't improve. Last season though, i think he proved a lot of people right that his running left a lot to be desired. I also think that Shula's dumbass contributed to that as well as some questionable oline play. I love what he brings to the table as a receiver too.

I just really wish media would stop hyping up his muscles. Not even close to the strongest guy on the team yet every social media account wants to flaunt his muscles. Why not Luke's or KK's? becoming a pet peeve of mine

Everything to do with the narrative that CMC would be "too small" to be successful as a premiere RB in the NFL. People expect the front 7 to be swole, but a guy that some folks here were rolling their eyes at "drafting a scatback/slot WR/returner with the #8 pick"

Not excusing it, just explaining why it was being tossed around so much. :)

I actually hadn't thought of that, thats a fair reason. People shat on him for being too weak so the panthers guys are trying to hype up his muscles now. Makes sense

CMC avgs 1.4 yards after contact. That is lowest 10 statistic in past decade in NFL..... =( He is a Slot WR / Scatback Not a true traditional running back

Not the case this preseason he running through tackles and picking up those extra yards after contact.

Even at Stanford he was never great after contact but he will improve in this area as he gets stronger. What he is is fast and elusive with great cuts so he will always get a lot of yards Before contact. If he can just get to be average after contact he will be incredible running and receiving.

Put me down for CMC having a very big role this year and I expect big things from him. OL may be of concern and we'll see if the receivers have time to get open,  which could lead to quick dump offs. I really don't know much about the blocking ability of our receivers, but if they can block they will be blocking for CMC.

with as many weapons as we have, i would be thrilled if he lived up to the reggie bush comparison. i don't expect he'll ever be a 20-25 carry a game feature back, but he'll touch the ball 20 times a game and that's good too. 15 carries and 5 catches. something like that. i don't know enough to know if that's considered doubting him or not, but that should be the expectation this year. if he can do that and get 5 yards per touch, all is well.

That would get him right around 1600 yards. Would be interesting to see how folks would react to that type of year. To me? That would be a pretty good year. With still having room for him to improve. So no, I don't think you would be doubting him with that projection.

He should average well over 5 yards/touch.

    • They are 1 and 9 against the  Bucs in the past 10 games. the Panthers go as young goes.  QB1 ‘s are suppose to dictate and overcome  and elevate Everything the QB does affects every part of the team and Bryce is uneven. Canales and Bryce have  an uneven relationship too  as for Evero, the only thing that might save him is the injury to Baker’s left shoulder and oline injuries. I don’t even know how he is out there   I really feel their season ended last Sunday Canales’ division record isn’t great   Getting owned by the Saints and Bucs isn’t a good look
    • Frankly surprised by the amount of people that want to hang Evero. This was a defense that was almost universally considered the bottom of the barrel before this season started. We’ve managed to stat our way to the middle of the pack whatever that means. Those critical of the zone schemes, what do you want? When even JC is getting burnt one on one by Olave you have little choice. There definitely have been moments where the zone blitz stuff has bit us. That said, are the third string linebackers (and nick Scott) covering poo anyway? This unit had only conceded 10 points going into the fourth quarter despite a litany of bullshit penalties on both sides. Them over performing is the biggest reason we are still in playoff contention.
