Does Jackson have a higher ceiling than Bradberry?

I went back and watched the Patriots game.  The 3rd down stop Jackson made took some impressive athleticism, as Jackson was following another receiver downfield and had to come back.  I know there is going to be some rookie growing pains, but he looks better as a rookie than Bradberry.  He might turn out to be the better corner.

Not sure.  If I had to say right now, I would say yes.   But I remember how bad people used to think of Norman before he blew up.  So I don't think the Bradberry ship has sailed.  It just Bradberry doesn't have the swagger/aggressiveness that imo makes a great cornerback.   Seems like he just plays sound football.   Jackson on the other hand has that swagger and I can see him being agressive (sometimes to his detriment).  So far we are playing generic zones for the most part.  However in TC I saw jackson in press and the 2 camps sessions I went to he looked impressive. 

So short answer,  I think Jackson has the higher ceiling, but I don' know if ultimately he will end up being the better cornerback.

Pretty sure Bradberry was one of the best CBs in the NFL statistically as a rookie. He may have had a sophomore slump but he is capable of being really good. I'm not going to already say Jackson is better based off one play in one game of the preseason. That's crazy. I think they will be great together

Jackson has superior physical skills. Doubt anybody would dispute that.

The flipside? We don't yet know how Jackson is going to adapt to the other aspects of the game.

I just want CBs that prevent big plays and minimizes TDs of WRs. Interceptions would be amazing but if they can prevent big plays and TDs all year long, 0 interceptions will not bother me like it would for others on this board.

Jackson's ceiling is probably higher. I still haven't given up on Bradberry yet although he definitely had a rough year in 2017. Jackson strikes me as a sugar or poo guy at the moment but maybe he can thrive as the season progresses. We need something out of one or both of them. I don't know that we can afford even one of our starters to stink it up, because the secondary as a whole is pretty suspect. 

Let's just hope Bradberry can get back to his rookie form AND Jackson shows he is NFL ready right out of the gate. We damn sure need it.

One of the more common comments about Bradbury last year was that he was a zone corner while Wilks was calling a lot of man coverage.

Valid? Don't know, but it's possible.

We've seen corners playing off the line pretty consistently under Rivera.

Generally the player with the superior athleticism technically has the higher ceiling. But athleticism alone has no bearing on whether that player can actually reach their ceiling.

I just hope the two of them can prove to be a legit starting CB tandem. One thing I do hope we see is to get away from the whole RCB/LCB concept. If we don't, I fear our opponents will just move their WRs around to create favorable match ups. Bradberry on a speedy deep threat and Jackson on a big, physical WR doesn't favor us and I think it's what we'll see if we insist on keeping Bradberry and Jackson married to one side or the other.
