Norv Turner on Cam Newton: "He hides a lot of deficiencies."

If you want to know what I now think of Norv Turner, I think he's churning into something special.

Why? Well, it helps that he knows how to self-evaluate properly. And given his recent comments on Cam, he's done something very few of our coaches have been willing to say about Cam.

Halle-freaking-lujah. An OC who understands and respects Cam's game. I imagine him watching tape and just shaking his head in disgust at how Cam literally is the only reason some of our coaching staff still has a job.

if you're not already impressed by his mvp season then it's just not gonna happen

Not what I meant at all. If you don't know I think Cam is a good QB by now, then you haven't read any of my previous posts here.

The Oline is down 4 starters from last year, Olsen, Samuel and Byrd are out. That's a lot for any QB to overcome.

This gives me hope we will make moves to shore up our OL next offseason. We can win a lot of games with an average secondary. We can’t win as many games with a terrible offensive line

Well said! I personally think next yr, where  going to be really deep at every position.  A lot of young talent going to get plenty of playing time this yr. which will only help for next yr. No, I’m not giving up on this yr either lol

Yes this line is still light years better than the bell, chandler, amini line Rivera trotted out there.

Is it though? I’m worried it’s going down the same path...more of the season will tell. Just looking at the panther oline depth chart on panthers.com scares me. Feels like 2015 was the peak Oline and we’ve slowly been sliding back to Chandler/Bell status. Still have Amini which is dumbfounding.

    • Don't have to be miss cleo. His weakness are length, athleticism, creating his own shot, defense, finishing at the rim,  Strengths - shooting and IQ.   Likely won't work as non athletic shooters don't typically work.

    • I live in Indiana and took a trip that weekend to watch my two friend's teams play (Chiefs and Vikings) IN Minnesota when they were playing at a college field, I think TCF? Anyways, our plan was to watch the game (noon game) then do some shopping at the Mall of America, I wasn't planning on watching the Panthers play Seattle since I was out sight seeing and walking around after the noon game had ended. By the time we were walking back into the Mall the Panthers were down by 2 scores in the 4th or going into the 4th and we were all thirsty from walking around for 2.5 hours after the Vikings game so we decided to postpone shopping until after we ate. We found this nice little sports bar inside the mall that had the game on. Man, I'm so glad we skipped shopping because that was probably the most excited I've been in some time for a win. Beating Seattle in 2015 felt like the "monkey off the back" sort of feeling and I knew we had finally arrived as a team. The entire bar erupted when Cam hit Olsen for that walk off TD. Literally one of the greatest moments of my life. My friend wasn't so happy though lol, by the time the Panthers game ended ALL of the stores inside the mall had closed and he wasn't able to get any souvenirs. It was his first time watching a Vikings game live and making a trip like that so he was legit upset lol. I on the other hand couldn't have been happier.
