I mostly agree with you, but Moore doesn't know how to get open like Samuel at this point. He is going to have to prove that he can. Samuel gets open with regularity. He showed it last year, and in preseason this year. I hope he comes back soon.

There are ways to help him in that regard. Flex him off the line. Put him in motion. Heck, you can put him in the slot. Cuz man, the kids needs playing time. He just proved it.

I have high hopes for Samuel. The kid can be a yardage machine. (I truly want what's best for him. But it is hard not being anxious for him to be back on the field.) Because, if we can pair him with DJ? That could be fun to watch.

Okay so I think we'll all agree that our best WR today was Wright.

He plays in the slot.

When Moore was on the outside this preseason, he sucked.

Moore's touchdown today was from the slot immediately after he subbed in for Wright off of a catch.

I do agree Moore should get more touches,  but I don't think he's yet ready to play outside. I do hope he gets more chances though. He showed today why we drafted him.

I concur that Wright had himself a great game. He is who we thought he would be. And he deserves to get his playing time/targets.

That said. DJ needs to see the field as well. And I agree that he seems to play better from the slot. So the only other way to get him targets without Wright leaving the field? Go 4 wide. Gets both Wright, and DJ into that slot spot. Plus, that formation, with McC in the backfield spreads that Defense out big time.

That is my dream scenario. Funch, and Wright, on the left. Samuel, with DJ, on the right.

Two dynamic playmakers at the same time. Who wouldn't want that? Surely Rivera and Turner can see it, right? Surely...

I truly believe Norv can't wait. Getting Samuel back is big. Really big. I also believe that DJ just earned himself some Cammy love today. So Cam may be looking his way more in the future.

In the preseason I said DJ Moore, Samuel, and Byrd on the field together was a nightmare for defenses because of their speed. Wright today showed me he can be trusted more then Funchess and Smith.

Wright, DJ Moore, Samuel, and Byrd need to be used in the passing game

They talked about speed all offseason. Use all your tools.

PS- Samuel and Byrd is a big part thats missing.

Already know Olsen hurts

Everyone is holding their breath waiting on Samuel to get back. I think most folks are pretty sure what he can give us at this point. Byrd? Returner/6th WR seems to be his role. But I could see a formation of Wright, Byrd, Samuel, and DJ. That would be fun to watch.

Exactly

I only mention Byrd because everytime he in the game and used, he do something special. You ride players like that. Thats the players that make things happen.

I am a big Byrd fan. I think he has shown that when he gets an opportunity, he can do something with it. Unfortunately, With this latest injury. The odds are not in his favor. And man, I hope I am wrong about that.

But hey, Funch is an impending FA. Maybe he asks for more money than we want to pay him? Maybe he will not be here next year. That would help Byrds' chances. And Wright, he is on a one year deal. Maybe he won't be here next year. So through all this wading through speculation ride, maybe he still is in the future plans for the Panthers?

I guess once he is healthy how they play this. Either way, I am rooting for the kid.

I've been a big Funchess fan all along but today was just damn horrible. No excuses.

Wright looked like a legit WR, Smith was meh. DJ Moore should have been more involved. ATL is letting Ridley play, we should let DJ play. Especially when we've got Byrd and Samuel on the sideline.

I expect the passing game to improve once Curtis returns. And as always I want more Byrd.

Well one thing is for sure, he can’t get open sitting on the bench

Sadly, with Rons history

Moore Is going to brought in slow no matter how much the 2 starters struggle.

And Samuel, despite looking the best WR in preseason.  The only way he gets in is if they take Wright (one of the only WRs prodcing) out to insert him in at the 3

Why cant it be Samuels, wright, Bryd or Samuels, Moore, Bryd. Guys interchange based on matchups. This is what I thought we would do, but since 2 out of 3 are not an option Moore should have been getting more reps. Funchess is just average and some times below that. Torey did not nothing but cost us yards the TD he got I believe any of the ither wrs could have did the job as well. Im just not impressed with his play.

I'm hip to that noise. DJ showed everything he is on that TD grab. Smooth catcher of the ball, and a runner once the ball is in his hands. I realize the tackle was bad, but the guy did put a hit on him. DJ just shrugged it off, and headed up field. Cam even threw his Hail Mary at DJ.

Yea the thing that impressed me even more than the yac on moore td was the way he reached and caught it with only a slight hop instead of like Funchess or some others do where they jump as high as they can, breaking their stride
