But really who deserves praise for this is most likely Ryan Kalil. I don't think this unit would be doing what it's doing without him.

Most underrated player for us (the one who takes a lot of undeserved criticism from fans) at the most underrated position.

But his contract stays. Still need a right or left guard so if Kalil wants to play, he had better figure out how to be more flexible with his position.

Just a backup like Amini for another year before we can cut him

Part of it is better o-line play and part of it is Norv Turner not putting them in a position to fail like Shula did. Unpredictable offense with quick passes/effective running mixed in does wonders for your line. Running Stewart up the middle every first down and drawing up long developing pass routes for 3rd and long constantly will make most offensive lines look terrible.

My concern is that we see Moton as a RT and we're just going to let Williams walk. I really wish we'd give Moton a legit look at LT because from what I've seen he can handle it. It's a copout time say an OT is better suited at RT. Hell, virtually all OTs ate better suited at RT simply because it's the easier position to play. It's a question of whether or not the guy CAN play on the left side and Moton can. We very well could have our OT tandem for the rest of Cam's career already on the roster. I just hope we don't fug this up.

Agree completely. I’d rather take a chance that Williams can return to form over trying to find another new one.
