Yeah, just like no changes were made to the helmet rule, but the calls went way down anyway. This is just the league's way of fixing things without admitting wrongdoing. The roughing calls will be way down the rest of the season.

On top of the stupid rule, now you've got Ben Roethlisberger basically admitting he sold a roughing call against the Bucs (when JPP tapped him on the helmet then he dropped to the turf in a heap).

So now we'll have QBs flopping to get the flag.  Lovely.

Telvin Smith said they weren't going to change a thing yesterday, and he called it spot on. He basically said that QB is each owner's biggest investment and that they were going to protect their investment, like it or not. He also basically said that players will just have to adapt.
