Taylor Moton makes PFF's 1st quarter All Pro team

RT – TAYLOR MOTON, CAROLINA PANTHERS

HONORABLE MENTION: Mitchell Schwartz

Moton gets the slight nod here due to his impressive work in the run game, though Schwartz deserves recognition as the highest-graded pass-blocking right tackle in the NFL so far this season. Moton, though, has been no slouch himself, allowing only three hurries all season and taking only five downgrades in the run game all season.

Even though it's just a quarter we ought to be extremely impressed excited everything about his play gets me fired up especially if he can transition to the left. Which we've seen him do already, now if Williams comes back healthy which is very realistic these days actually stronger thrn before. Only complaint we've heard it a thousand times but in all actuality he'd be subbing in on power formation if our starters didn't both get hurt even when we knew we needed a upgrade over Kalil but that's why Rivera graded so low in the personnel category under his coaching rank.

I want to keep repeating that this is the guy Rivera wanted to keep on the bench until injuries forced his hand.

That's all I think about it's crazy wait till Moore takes someone's snaps even with his weak routes, did you see Torrey Rin a route and not even look for the ball and it hit him in the dam face mask it's been so much weakness I'm lost for words but his impact still may be legendary depending on how Eric turns out for us imo.

Also, starting RB, WR, and LT in the same draft? That's some ole Dan Morgan, Kris Jenkins, Steve Smith poo right there.

Coulda been K of the future too :(

Sure, Gano's good and I'm fine with his play. Though it's fair to wonder "what if" given Harrison Butker's high level of play.

I really hope one of Moton or Williams can make a smooth transition to the left side. If so we will be set for a decade but I worry that both really only have experience on the right and it won’t work out as well as I hope.

If I'm not mistaken, Jordan Gross started his career as a RT before switching to the left side.

    • Rags lost again. All is right in the hockey world.
    • He’s responsible for two drafts classes. The first was one of the worst drafts I’ve ever seem. The second one is showing a ton of promise. I’m somewhere between skeptical and hopeful on Morgan.
    • I'm a big fan of Dan. His ability to find productive players deep in the draft will pay off.  I'm going to give him 1.5 draft classes right now, because I do think it's a little unfair to evaluate his first year when he got the job in January, especially when we went into that draft not having a first round pick.  XL and Brooks are still big time TBD players. Both still have incredibly high ceilings, but both have also given us legitimate reasons to have a lot of pause. Trevin Wallace, Chau Smith Wade and Jatavion Sanders have IMO outplayed their draft position early in their careers. That's a great thing. He also got Coker and Demani Richardson as UDFAs that year. Given the situation we were in, I really don't mind the gamble on the high ceiling guys. Still may work out, still may not, but if you made a checklist of ideal situation for an NFL GM to walk into, ours was near the bottom of that list.  Every single 2025 pick is contributing in some way. That typically doesn't happen. I am absolutely blown away by this draft class 6 games in. Even the best GM's miss on occasion, and we can't expect Dan to be 100% on drafts moving forward. Ryan Fitzgerald was an excellent find as well.  Comparing our last two drafts to the previous few is pretty shocking. Can you imagine this season without our Rookies? It would not be good. Additionally, this roster only has 6 players with more than 6 years of experience, and two of those are specialist.  The next step is equally important, and still very much TBD. We have to avoid Cap Chaos.
