"If he dont slide, try to take him out"

This is a violent game. You have to want to physically punish people in this game to be successful. I would never want to injure someone, but I would be lying if I said I never aimed to take someone out of a game. Anyone who has ever buckled a chinstrap has felt that at some moment.

but as was posted earlier it's a little strange that it comes up so often with cam. almost as if the intentions are different when it comes to him. the combination of cheap shots and comments alluding to that throughout his career sure seem to suggest that the intentions are different.

I disagree.

They just don't know how to defend him.  He has to be exceedingly frustrating to chase around out there all day.

I think, like with many duel threat QB's, that's just the way they are coached to defend it, I know I was.

"QB leaves the pocket and doesn't get down, you need to make him think twice about it next time".  Between hearing that, and when defending the option, to "just knock the hell out of the QB, the'll stop running it"....I just can't count the times.

Cam takes a more of a beating than most at the QB position, but he also puts himself out there a lot more than everyone else.

don't disagree with this at all. defenders simply aren't good enough to stop him. they feel like they need to "take him out"

it's been happening for years

Yup.  It's also a "picking on someone your own size" type thing for them.

I can promise you this though...nothing makes a defensive player happier than getting a clean shot at the QB, and I don't see that changing.

I'd agree "take him out" is probably an unfortunate choice of words, but I've not read anything to make me think Landon Collins is a dirty player.

And yeah, if one of ours declared that he planned to hit an opposing quarterback hard, I don't think any of us would complain.

Heck, our own Thomas Davis (who, fair or not, actually has been accused of being a dirty player) famously stated that his method was to "get to the ball with bad intentions".

11/03/2017....0 games suspended....Fine = $48,620....Reason: Helmet-to-helmet hit against Adam Humphries (TB).

12/23/2016....0 games suspended....Fine = $18,231....Reason: Unnecessary Roughness against Washington (WAS).

11/18/2016....0 games suspended.....Fine = $9,115....Reason: Late Hit against Charcandrick West (KC).

09/26/2015....0 games suspended....Fine = $8,681....Reason: Late hit against Johnathan Grimes (HOU).

11/23/2012,....0 games suspended....Fine = $21,000....Reason: Striking a defenseless Tampa Bay player in the head and neck area.

TOTAL FINES = $1,371,264

Conclusion: football is a violent game and even "good guys" like TD58 are out there head hunting on a regular basis, occasionally a player is foolish enough to verbalize the fact it is taking place...

That's over 130 games and he only got a fine in 8 tackles.

ROFL that's not dirty or head hunting when you have 8 tackles in 130 games and that isn't even counting the years he didn't get a fine. I only estimated the years/games that he did receive a fine because he went several y ears without getting one and most of his came when the rules became bullshit and weren't even illegal anyway. He's got over 1,000 tackles. That's not even 1% of his tackles that were "dirty".

Nothing to see here.

He's never had an outing like OBJ for example where it was multiple times in the same game over and over clearly trying to injure someone on purpose. OBJ didn't even get suspended, there is a clear and obvious bias toward defenders.

You seriously have so much hatred towards TD and it is showing who you really are. A racist troll.

    • Ppl want to trade Melo? Am I wrong for thinking that would be a bad idea?
    • Some of you act like one can't learn from experience over time. Just because you may not know what you're doing in 2018 doesn't mean that you don't know what you're doing in 2025. Frankly, you grow from experience, and success and excellence gives first-time applicants the hand probably 99.999% of the time.
    • It's an interesting topic of conversation as sports evolves. I think ultimately it would lead to a number of small market franchises folding though. Especially in the NBA where there are so many bad teams that have been bad for years and years in some cases already. But as it stands I think athlete pay draft or no draft aside has reached a point where we can and should realistically ask should they make that much compared to the average person. Now college athletes is a different conversation but even that reaches a breaking point. But we could go down the rabbit hole on this even further into overall entertainment and talk about actors making absurd sums too. In the end I think in sports the powers that be won't allow these changes to even be considered because it opens the door for so many other variables. But who knows how long sports like football will realistically be around after people like us pass on. We're only just now learning about things like CTE which the league and the sport in general will only be able to run away from for so long. As far as the NBA goes my understanding is viewership has been steadily going down for a number of reasons but one crucial aspect is key players missing so many games. The NBA has to figure that out regardless. Especially when considering fans who pay to see these athletes compete in person. But hey I guess let's just try to appreciate what we've got while it still exists in this form eh?
