Steve Smith Admits To Sharing Panthers Playbook With Ravens

You should be more upset with losing the weapon that carried the Shula offense in Steve Smith, not losing the play coloring book.

Many people forget Steve Smith and Jordan Gross were a package deal. They were going to retire together, and while they were saying it would have likely been 2014, we had the feeling then and know now that the two of them would have hung it up at the end of the 2015 or 2016 season.

Worst decision in the history of the franchise was parting ways with Steve Smith and losing Jordan Gross as a result. Imagine 2015 with Steve Smith and Jordan Gross. Worst decision by the Panthers in franchise history.

Beason was talking about this before the game.  He basically said this happens all the time, and teams expect it to happen.  Basically if we lost to the Ravens because they had our prior year playbook, then someone didn't do their job.

    • Good read and stuff under it is not bad either. https://www.yahoo.com/sports/article/panthers-cb-jaycee-horn-says-184519429.html
    • While I'd love to add him, it just doesn't make sense for where we are at in our re-build right now. The only teams who should be interested are those who have a very legitimate shot at winning the SB this season, as any team who makes the trade is going to be mortgaging their future to make the move. Teams who make these kinds of trades and then give them the massive contract, in the hopes that it will expedite their path to contention, ALWAYS ends up backfiring because they have to give up the 1st round picks that are then needed to help build out the rest of the roster after eating up such a significant chunk of the cap on the new contract. There is no way the Cowboys trade him for anything less than 2 future 1st rounders (and probably more), plus we'll have to make him the highest paid non QB in league history.  Not to mention that it would then have made the Scourton and/or Princely picks a bit of a waste, as those 2nd and 3rd round picks would have been better off used on a ILB or DB
    • Like his approach to pre season that's ro get them out there and play together for a few plays and right about the night before and morning before.  Maybe we can come out the gate on fire I can smell the smoke from here!!   Go Panthers
