I keep seeing a ton of threads and posts deriding Cam regarding his accuracy, why "he keeps overthrowing recievers," and "fans" trying to get other fans to see things their way and blame him for our issues today...  He missed the throw on the two-point conversion.  Ok, got it.  But, his accuracy on the season was good for 6th in the league coming into this week, ahead of guys like Goff and Mahomes.  Furthermore, that 67.5 completion percentage today would've been higher than 75% had Funchess not dropped 4 or 5 perfectly thrown balls.  But, I don't see threads complaining about Funchess and why he played like a fuging bum who shouldn't be starting...  Luke was a huge reason why Kerryon Johnson was averaging over 8 ypc before being injured, but I don't see entire threads of people complaining and saying it's time to move on from him.  Gano had the worst day I believe a kicker has ever had in our franchise history, and aside from being mentioned to defend Cam's last throw, I don't see threads and innumerable posts saying how we need a new kicker.  And yet, without those guys setting the table they did with their horrible day, Cam is never put in the position to be forced to make that throw in a completely vanilla, non-creative play call against max coverage on a "chips all in" two-point conversion.

I'd just like to point out, again, that Cam put up a Top 5, league-MVP-contending performance with today's stat line.  Without Cam, we're never in that game, or any game.  And as most GOOD coaches would usually remind you after a game like that, a game never comes down to one play...  but, the subpar coach we are stuck with just blames it on Cam, because it's easier than being accountable for your team inexcusably showing up completely uninspired and unprepared two games in a row.

Gano was atrocious, Luke and the front four were just as bad, Bradberry was horrible, and Funchess better hope there's a hot market for a receiver with poor conditioning, habitual cramps, and hands of stone, because he is too inconsistent to ever garner real receiver money and I hope we don't bring him back.  Not to mention, this is the 4th game this season that the team came out completely lackadaisical and lost against a far lesser team on paper who was already without two of their better players coming in...  and coincidentally enough, this is the 3rd game this season where the opponent was supposedly extremely disadvantaged due to injuries coming in...  Atlanta lost Neal and Jones, Washington was without Thompson and Crowder.

There is a countless confluence of factors as to why this team sucks and why we lost today, and literally none of them are Cam or the pass he missed.  Place some blame on the actual culprits who put us in the position to need to go for two points in the first place...  there are plenty to choose from.  Thanks.

Holding a team less than 21 pts is a win in the NFL for any defense. It’s pathetic that the offense couldn’t put up points when the defense gives you the ball multiple times, of course it’s gonna wear down with constant 3 and outs.

It’s not all on CAM but he has to make that throw no matter what. He failed during the Redskins game with the same issue.

I get he should have made that throw. But what bothers me is how people forget how great he played today and I see on a lot of social media post calling for us to move on from him. There are  a lot of issues going on with this team and Cam is not a concern. He is playing the best in his career. We will fix things and move on. We will be in the playoffs and who knows, we have find a strive or something. Keep pounding

I appreciate what you're doing here, but you can defend Cam without trashing the rest of the entire roster. The stat line is defense enough.

Not my intention to trash the rest of the roster.  I love Luke, but he is not playing well.  Funchess and Bradberry deserved sharp criticism for their performances today (as well as some other games).  And yeah, you're right, Cam's stat line speaks for itself, but I guess part of the point I'm making is how universally, everyone but Cam gets a pass, and for quite awhile a lot of these other guys have been stinking it up in key games or situations, unquestioned.  I just don't understand how people can blame Cam, but refuse to acknowledge that without him, and him specifically, we are never in these games at all.

Man the combination of the defense and Butterfingers is why you don' have more points. Cams job is to put the team in the position to score points. Cam did that. Yes he made some mistakes but Gano fg should have been made. Simple extra point should have been made. Kickers have off moments but unless Gano is hurt he should have been given the opportunity to make another chip shot. The 2 point conversion as people have stated would not have sealed the victory. I rather take my chances in making a high percentage conversion that gives my overall team to comeback and win the game. Give everyone a chance to make things right. Rivera took that chance away from special teams, the defense and yes Funchess which I don'  think I would let him have a chance after as many as he had the whole game.

Gano HAS to make that field goal. Gano HAS to make that extra point. Our Defense HAS to play better. Rivera HAS to coach better. There are tons of issues before even thinking about Cam.

Cam, and most of the key players on the offense played great to be honest. Funch is what killed all our momentum multiple times with his hands of stone. I can't even blame Cam for that last because I see what he was trying to do and how tough of a throw it would have been considering the defender getting his hands up like he did. The only real play that I put on Cam was the sack before Gano's old alterego "Oh No Gano" decided to rear his ugly head. If our defense could play at least OK from the start of the game until the end we wouldn't be so bad off but damn sometimes that just doesn't seem possible with Washington as our DC. Washington is basically the Shula of defense and if things don't change soon he needs to be fired or in the least demoted since he used to do well as the D-Line coach.

    • Derrick Brown was one player I never called or even suggested was a bust . Dude was young and hadn't even hit his stride. It takes time to learn the position. The thing I appreciated about him is that he kept improving season after season. He got paid and keeps on going like the Energizer Bunny.
    • How many teams coddle their QB the way Bryce has been coddled? I have never seen any other team in the NFL EVER baby a QB the way that Bryce has been.  Bryce was named day 1 starter his first year. It was obvious he didnt deserve it. He wasnt ready as evidenced by the worst rookie year in NFL history.  So let's move to year 2. He's named starter again with no competition in TC and is benched 2 games later. We have the ghost of a backup in Dalton who is so bad he can only beat Vegas and let's remember, the only reason he lost his starting job was a car accident, not because Bryce actually beat him out in practice.  And year 3. We sign Dalton again, who already proved he couldn't be depended on to put an even remotely passable performance on the field, and bring back Jack Plummer, who was even worse than last year. It was obvious he was nothing more than a pretend body in an attempt to create an illusion of some type of attempt to find a backup.  Then we start again with garbage play again and Bryce gets benched with a phantom injury, and the ghost of the ghost of Dalton breaks his thumb on the first drive and craps the field all over again. If we had actually made an attempt to find a legitimate QB2, it's possible Bryce doesn't step on the field again. Bryce is not agood QB and if we had any other mediocre QB, our record would be the same or better.  Bryce is not entrenched. He's been placed, protected and sheltered from ever having to face a  real QB competition in TC. Richardson and Levis both were ass and both were benched and eventually replaced.  Do I expect Baker to face competition in camp? Sure. I expect Tampa to find the best QB2 they can at price that fits their cap and resources and system and get him up to speed. If he's better than Baker, and if he's better by a significant margin, that's best for the team. The ultimate goal is a Super Bowl. Bellichek was constantly getting QB2s with the GOAT as his starter. He knew the value and that was realized when Cassell led them to an 11-5 record as a backup.  You and I may think differently than the people that matter but I will say it again. If you're afraid to bring in a capable backup, especially after the debacle of last year. The starting role wasn't earned, it was given, and that's loser mentality.
    • I would have done the same thing.  LSU is a much better job than Ole Miss.  Plus the enormous contract and every advantage a college team can offer in terms of recruiting and facilities and tradition etc
