We could have a new starting left tackle

And here we are again at the mercy of Ron Rivera's piss poor talent evaluation and roster management skills.

If Chris Clark can't go, the most obvious solution to most of us would be to put our best tackle (Moton) on the left and let Marshall Newhouse backfill on the right.

But no...

Rather than put our promising young tackle back at the spot where he performed very well in the preseason, we're going to trot a 30 year old journeyman out there instead.

Oy...

Rivera reportedly "doesn't see Taylor Moton as a left tackle". This from the same coach who apparently did see Byron Bell as a left tackle. So I guess Taylor Moton isn't quite as good as Bell.

Clark hasn't been great but he has been better than what I feared this year. I still remember preseason and the wasted spaces that tried to play LT for us. Newhouse was one of those wasn't he? Ugh.

I have no idea why Morton isn't slid over that way. It sure wold be great to see if he could be the answer long term. I despise the player evaluations of this team under Ron.

What exactly is stopping Matt from playing right side? You'd think that a starting LT who was great in college would at least be a serviceable RT. Still overpaid as all hell but at least we could be grooming Moton for the left spot.

My guess? He says he's healthy but really isn't.

(Lord knows it wouldn't be the first time)

I think its a football injury guaranteeing his 2019 contract or something like that. They'd rather sit him out than risk him getting injured.
