Funchess played only 11 snaps last night.

And the one play that mattered was a terrible call. We obviously had to go for the endzone since we wasted 12 seconds celebrating but regardless we still had a timeout. The fade route has never been a play that is very successful for this team so chalk it up to another wasted possession.

Remember in the preseason when everyone said our receivers looked like the best they've looked in years?

Funchess: garbage

Torrey Smith: is he still on this team?

Moore: good, but green and he lacks focus sometimes

Byrd: done

Samuel: have we turned him into a running back officially?

Wright: I appreciate him moving the chains, but hasn't done much else lately

Olsen: done

Ian Thomas: showing progress, but friends, the ball hit him right in his hands at the end of the game and he dropped it

Cam has a busted shoulder, a horrendous offensive line, and has McCaffrey and Moore as his only reliable options with Thomas/Samuel/Wright being there only occasionally. Not exactly a recipe for success.

You must not remember these amazing groups we've had in the past for Cam.

2017

Brenton Bersin, Kaelin Clay, Mose Frazier, Devin Funchess, Russell Shepard

2016

Kevlin Benjamin, Brenton Bersin, Corey Brown, Devin Funchess, Ted Ginn

2015

Brenton Bersin, Corey Brown, Jerricho Cotchery, Devin Funchess, Ted Ginn, Kevin Norwood

2014

Kelvin Benjamin, Brenton Bersin, Corey Brown, Jerricho Cotchery, De'Andre Presely

2013

Ted Ginn, Domenik Hixon, Tavarress King, Brandon LaFell, Marvin McNutt, Steve Smith

Oh Wee Mayne.

When Torrey played, we 6-2.

torrey out we lose 6 in a row,..

Torrey has some magic— he needed to play instead of Funchess— somehow everyone plays better with Torrey.

there are metrics baseball uses more than anyone on winning lineups versus losing ones— it doesn’t matter if a a guy catches for 200 yards or runs for 2000 yards if the team is losing versus a guy that catches 50 yards a game but they win win win.

They have all looked decent other than Funchess. Really all other receivers look good and are good, but it doesn’t help when half your playbook is gone and teams know Cam can’t throw more than 15 yards

    • It’s wild to me that so many of you guys are threatened by the idea of an opposing team fan who is polite in 2025. He’s been posting here on and off for years, usually when our teams play each other which hasn’t been for a while. I’d maybe understand this treatment if it was a falcons or saints fan, but packers fans in general are one of the nicer fan bases as long as you aren’t another NFC north team (especially the bears).
    • Some players excel on the big stage, while others freeze and succumb to the pressure. I’m not convinced Cam took a dive. I think he didn’t handle the stage very well. The pressure got to him and he folded. He wouldn’t be the first quarterback or player to struggle in a Super Bowl. Two HOF examples - John Elway and Jim Kelly. The 2002 MVP, Rich Gannon, threw 5 interceptions against the Bucs. Poor performances happen.  Unless of course you believe all these players threw the games they played in, but if that occurred, surely someone by now would have admitted taking a dive? 🤷‍♂️
    • It was always a matter of time with Cam’s playing style and a shorter shelf life than passers that protect themselves. I suppose Cam could have still been playing in 2028 ten years after the hit took place, but he would need to have evolved as a quarterback and become more of a passer than the dual threat maestro he was. It’s sad because it makes us think of what could have been, but I do feel it was always a matter of time until all the hits took their toll.
