The meeting that needs to happen behind closed doors. (maybe already did)

At this point of the season. Tepper, Rivera, Hurney, all the staff. A meeting has to be made. Tepper needs to let Rivera know if he's out or not. So things can progress accordingly.

Cam is hurt, he needs to be rested the remainder of the season. They need to take a look at everyone in the roster, Heinecke for example. Once Rivera knows his fate I think things will transition much smoother. Whether he's gone or if he's got until his contract.

One thing I would like to see is a New GM take over. Evaluate everything and everyone. Then move accordingly.

But for gods sake, just don't let cam further damage himself.

Capitalize “God”!

I think there's a very good chance Kahn will be the choice at GM if a change is made.  And from an offensive standpoint, McDaniel would also make a lot of sense.  IMO, he's a masterful OC (and also lucked into having Brady for the bulk of his career), and would do wonders with a healthy Cam, CMC, Moore and Samuel.

However, I'm not sure if he's a very good leader.  He likely learned a lot from his mistakes in Denver, so I wouldn't expect a repeat of that situation if he's hired here.  But I just don't have confidence that he is the type that can take charge of the team the way you need your HC to.  IMO, the biggest problem he had in Denver is that he was trying too hard to be like Belicheck, and that only works if you ARE like Belicheck,  otherwise it comes across as disingenuous.

I do not get the love affair with Reggie McKenzie at all.  He's had one good draft in five years.  He's been through four head coaches, and the most recent hire was Jon Gruden.  This is the guy we want running our team?

Pass.

Gruden wasn't McKenzie's choice.

Heck, coaching changes in general probably weren't McKenzie's choice.

Dennis Allen was certainly McKenzie's choice.  Obviously Sparano was interim, but you'd assume he was involved there too.  I don't know for sure about Del Rio.

Also - those drafts.

I can definitely see why fans would want wholesale change but I don't know if Tepper being from the Steelers organization is just going to clean house in an already above average franchise. His fellow Steeler owner who bought the Browns has changed and changed coaches to no avail. He went opposite of the Steeler way. If Tepper absorbed anything from the Steelers is that to maintain their "way" they promote and hire from within. Ron is a good coach but for the first time this team has the capability to hire from within and not skip a beat,  offensively at least. My gut says Ron will get the opportunity to turn things around with the new ownership. Tepper will build and not necessarily destroy.

    • The league would protect him.  The amount of poo Jerry Jones has had exposed and got away with?  The amount of poo Stephen Ross has got away with?  How long Dan Snyder got away with essentially fuging sex trafficking employees and poo???????  Taking down JR was a hit job.  You think the other 31 owners, especially the older ones aren’t blathering, blatant, ignorant ass, bigoted rich racists who have committed far worse things than Blue Jean Fridays?  The ones I named above have DEFINITELY did worse than what JR was accused of.  And do you think guys like Steve Smith would’ve been viewing him as a father figure if they felt that’s who he was?  JR pissed the league off with that last lockout situation and they made him pay.  They lined a new guy up to join their billionaire boys club in Tepper, and they prolly slid a pretty penny to Jonathan Jones to write the “expose,” to get JR out of here.  Again, all the owners I’ve listed above have been verified on record for doing worse poo, yet they’re still running their organizations, unquestioned.  They hand-picked Tepper long before JR was forced out, so he isn’t going anywhere.  Sadly.  fug the NFL.  (Also, to be clear, it’s always fug racism, bigotry, and sexual exploitation - not ever excusing it.  Just making the point that the NFL isn’t operating under this clear standard of justice applied to each and every case)
    • I was still in the throes of a contentious divorce and my job at the time had me work on Sundays.  At the beginning of the season I tried to still work around Sundays so I could see our games.  I think after Bryce came back from the benching, I said fug it.  First time in my life I intentionally didn’t watch our games, even through the Atlanta finale.  In the past, even if we didn’t live up to expectations, I would watch to still support and at least analyze player development, strengths and weaknesses, coaching, etc., but Bryce makes all of that a moot point, so I stopped watching. Again, this is asinine,  it if he is retained (still can’t believe this is even a possibility of a conversation due to how shitty our organization has become under Tepper), I will NOT watch next season until he is gone.
    • Live look at Bryce playing ping pong.
