I’m comfortable with Heinicke as backup

heineken throws three picks well i'm not saying it was an insanely stellar performance but the kid's got guts

Well for the people who aren't actually stuck up their ass over a few troll posters, Heineken did play with the same type of toughness we see from Cam so they have that in common...along with running for their lives behind this gabbage OL...that's where the comparison ends though.

He doesn't have anywhere near the arm or overall talent though so we need to see what Allen has and keep digging for Cams backup.

backup quarterback should be a guy who can manage a game for a short amount of time or a developmental guy. heinicke doesn't appear to be either of those things. draft a mid to late round guy

True but may as well see what Allen has while we're at it in the last game.

You must have gotten in that Christmas eggnog a little early

he should not be on a nfl roster

nice kid. Tough kid but that’s not enough

Put anybody behind that terrible o-line and they don’t do much better than Taylor. He was getting destroyed constantly, when he had time and wasn’t rushed he played ok.

I saw this coming after watching some of his college games. Not enough arm strength nor accuracy to be a backup in the NFL. He'll just throw too many INTs in the redzone or stall drives from lack of deep passing ability. We need to give Allen a look, and then decide if we need to draft a QB.

Honestly we should've kept Garrett Gilbert. He looked like the best QB besides Cam in the preseason for the past couple years. But Ron isn't known for his talent evaluation.

I agree about Rivera, but that particular choice might not be on him.

Heinicke over Gilbert was likely Norv's call.

He converted all 13 of his field goal tries with a 100% conversion rate that led all FBS kickers with at least 12 attempts. Fitzgerald was also perfect on his 14 extra points. He will compete with Matthew Wright for the Panthers’ kicking job in training camp. Harrison-Hunte went undrafted despite a strong showing at the Combine. He’s an older prospect who will turn 25 by the start of his rookie year, but he had just one season of sustained production at SMU after five years at Miami. Still, he earned first-team All-ACC honors in 2024 with 8.5 tackles for loss and 6.5 sacks and will push for a roster spot in Carolina as an athletic interior disruptor.   more at the link https://www.profootballrumors.com/2025/05/panthers-sign-19-undrafted-free-agents
