Luke Kuechly should retire (sarcasm)

He’s 28 and still killing it with terrible play all around him and terrible play calls all year with Washington. As the year went on he was getting better each week and absolutely dominated when Rivera started calling plays. The guy is 28 and could be like Peyton Manning back in the day playing calls himself if given the opportunity. We are lucky to have what could be considered the greatest linebacker of all time one day.

We actually had Huddlers saying he is done and should be traded/cut/retire......

I don't understand the thread title or thread tbh.

I kind of feel bad for Luke, I can't imagine his long term mental and physical health going well. Brain trauma can really destroy the last 20+ year's quality of life.

But at the same time if that is how he choses to live and go down a  legend, I respect it, and I'm glad he's doing it with the Panthers.

There's a big difference when the play a player of Luke's caliber goes down without any reason compared to someone like Cam who has an injury.

It wasn't Luke's fault. It was Washington. That was evident to huddlers at like week 8 and evident to Ron a month later.

So it's Cam's fault we used him as a battering ram for years?

If Luke can rightfully receive the benefit of the doubt, no reason Cam hasn't earned the same.

i can't tell if you're making fun of people who say he should retire or actually suggesting it yourself but either way this thread is ass

I was making fun of the people who said he should retire and was showing that he was the had an incredible grade out for the year by pff. This was with terrible play call and players around him.

Sorry it’s an ass thread, maybe I’ll do a sources thread, or a post bashing Tepper and saying he is a worse owner than Jerry Richardson.

Luke was, again, by far the best MLB in the league this year and will, again, be first team all pro. He’s our best defensive player hands down and all those people who made threads about how he sucks earlier in the year should never make another thread.

Exactly. People who suggested he was done/should be traded/should retire look insane now and show why we have so many over the top insane reaction threads.

Until RR took over as DC, Luke looked lost. He wasn't, but he was having to scramble on every play to try and cover mismatches and gaps. The first four games without TD were really bad, although Shaq did a pretty good job. On most plays, Luke was still trying to make something out of the chaos coming in from the sidelines.

He is the GOAT for middle linebackers, hands down. He is, however, just one bad concussion away from being out of the league. That's worrisome. We could be blessed and have him for nine more years or we could lose him from a bad hit in training camp. So much is riding on that guy.

    • You're assuming just as well.   Morgan and Canales were hired 3 days apart.  I believe it was partially due to their connections in Seattle.  i believe Tepper wanted some familiarity with his GM and HC.  It is so easy to sit back and arm-chair QB over draft picks.  You don't know what the philosophy was going into the 2024 draft.  I believe Canales and Morgan were drafting for the future.  XL and Brooks point to that philosophy. Name me one GM that is 100% on draft picks.  Just one.  You're not going to find one.    I think year one picks weren't for what can you do for me now but Potential.   XL hasn't lived up to the hype of a 1st rounder.  I think we all can agree on that. However, there still is hope he comes around.  What I believe they saw in him was his speed after the catch.  He needs to get more consistent but when he gets the ball you kind of hold your breath just a second because if he gets free, he's gone.  The Brooks pick was a signing for the future, and no one could have guessed he would re-injure the same ACL.  This makes the pick look bad but Dallas was ready to draft him later that same round.  IMO we'll have to see what happens next season before we can call this a bust. Wallace has improved each season and for a third rounder has done well.  Sanders has shown flashes and considering the pick in the 4th round it wasn't a bad pick.  His sophomore season IMO was a little bit more productive.  Smith-Wade has been a good addition and has played well.  For a 5th round pick to get as much playing time as he has.  Most picks below round 3 should take a couple of years to get up to speed.  He's been a decent player.  Crumedy, no comment We turned Barrett into Jackson.  This was an amazing move and basically got a starting CB for a 7th round pick.  Pretty shrewd if you ask me. Coker, maybe the best Free Agent signing of the 2024 draft class. So, in short, you can't say that the draft was a bust.  It isn't a home run but all but one are still on the team and outside of Brooks have made contributions to wins.  2025 draft class has been much better with almost every pick making contributions this season.  Now take Fitterer's two years and compare them to Morgan and tell me that they have the same philosophy.
    • He hasn’t led crap, he’s on loaded teams and a piece of the puzzle. And he’s he has improved drastically but it took the ultimate QB whispers in Shanahan and KOC. You put him on this Panther team and he’s back to normal Darnold
    • Slavin and Jarvis week to week. Florida cheap shots took out our two best players.  I’d start KK so he can beat the brakes off someone.
