They sure are, mine still bother me from time to time over 25 years later. Props to him for manning up to play. I feel for him too. He made some great grabs and to miss that last one...

Guys like Romo and Big Ben played through broken ribs several times and it didn’t affect their play all that much, this really isn’t a valid excuse. It’s a tough break for him and the team but not the reason they lost. They were absolutely dominated for the last 3 quarters of the game, they’re actually lucky they were in it only down a score at the end there. Go Rams and Chiefs

Im not a professional athlete by any means but im in pretty good shape and have a pretty high pain tolerance (played my whole junior year of high school with a torn meniscus) and i honestly have no idea how someone with cracked ribs can play in a pro football game. I had a hairline fracture on one rib and for weeks it was incredibly painful just to get out of bed

Totally different positions and I'm sure those guys were wearing very heavy rib protectors that a WR would struggle to play with. Most likely, they probably also had broken ribs on their non-throwing side since that would be their blind side where they'd be most likely to take a big hit. Numbed up good, that would probably be the best non-kicker broken rib situation to try to deal with as long as they didn't take a big blindside hit.

Not to take anything away from them, but it's just nowhere near an apples to apples comparison. I couldn't imagine playing football regardless of position with broken ribs.

Ok doctor. Not everybody has the same tolerance to pain like others do so it is a valid excuse.

      It's not sustainable,  although he deserve credit for the win also, as he made clutch plays as he does with every win we have.

      As much as I would love to sit here and bash on Young.  I can't.   He is absolutely a part of this team winning.  He is the cool hand leading the offense along with the hammer, Rico.  He's making plays on 3rd and 4th downs, that are absolutely helping thus team win.  Is Bryce playing as well as we'd like? Nope. Although he had only 1 week off from a high ankle sprain.   No question he was 100% in the Greenbay game.  I'm not even sure where the team would find a clear upgrade over Byrce.  He is a leader.  In the 4th quarter, he has ice in his veins.  He is a part of why our team is enjoyable to watch again.  Without him, we wouldn't be winning.    Anyways.  Y'all enjoy yet another thread designed to tear down the man.

      Great article on all the Lil Canes attending their debutantes ball. Walt with a great breakdown of all the rookies, as always, and I'm a huge fan of his team coverage, he is truly a treasure, but as a fan of mixed metaphors and superfluous language which some might ignorantly refer to as a "run-on sentence" I never really understood what that mean or where to put the comma after a quote in the middle of a sentence, but holy poo Walt, this is a gem, "While there's a long road left in front of them left to determine whether or not they'll have that same success on the blue line again, the beginning stretch of the journey has been thrown a wrench, and the story on defense has been the emergence of up-and-comers forced into becoming lineup regulars." , bravo, take a bow, sir!
