Cam Newton admits he couldn't throw 30 yards

I also think Cam should have done what's best for his career and told them he needed a break.  But yes, this is a very bad look for Ron and shows he doesn't really care about Cam's overall career.  We've known that since he let him play the 2016 season after he tore his shoulder.

This! I mean why do we have back-up QBs. Sure Cam might have been mad but once his arm became like a noodle Ron should have sat Cam and began resting him seeing if the back up cod get us to playoffs or just starting the procedure early. I just don't know how Ron felt playing him would help.

Well did he ever admit that to the coaching stuff during the season at any time after they were 6-2?

If so, and that coach decided he was still the best chance to win after losing game after game that coach should be fired on the spot...........Rivera?............If I was Tepper and found this out I'd be looking to chop heads.

Of course Ron knew.  Everybody did.  But all we heard was how there was no structural damage and it was just general soreness.  I can't blame Ron for sending him out there.  If Cam wanted to play and the doctors were saying there was no structural damage what was Ron supposed to do?  If we'd have had a viable backup then maybe I could see sending them in but I'm sorry Heinicke and/or Allen weren't viable backups.  IMO this is where Hurney effed up by not having someone capable of running the offense (with some degree of productivity) were Cam to get injured.  Maybe that's on Turner too because he seems to have been the one that wanted to bring Heinicke in.

Maybe recognize that his QB was shot-putting his throws barely 10 yards on his throws and start believing his lying eyes like a normal human being?

"Bu... bu... bu... they said he was OK!"

That's weak-sauce, man.

weird thing is, if we had rested cam at, say, 6-5, we would have been checking back with testaverde or someone else off the street when we were 6-6.  another reason rivera and hdog need to go.  how many qb's would have ended up injured? 4, 5, 6?

That tells me more about what Ron thought of Heinicke or Allen.

    • No saying he mostly sucks is saying that he doesn’t suck the minority of the time.   Like if he took 17 tests and had a couple of really good showings and a handful of pretty good scores sprinkled in among the typical sub par results.   Like a golfer who went out and shot an 89.  There will be some real nice shots sprinkled in there but at the end of the day it is still 89.
    • It's worth mentioning... Game 1: Oct 11 in Raleigh. 4-3 OT win with a complete starting lineup. Game 2: Dec 13 in Philly. 4-3 SO win without Jaccob Slavin. Game 3: Dec 14 in Raleigh. 3-2 SO win with a complete starting lineup. Game 4: Apr 13 in Philly. 3-2 SO loss with the AHL roster.  Those early season games were no indication of the Canes team that finished the season. Miller and Ehlers were still trying to figure things out, Nikishin was still a work in progress and the Stankoven line was just another line. Make no mistake, the Canes team Philly will see is nothing close to what they saw at any point in the season. If the top line starts producing, Freddie stays hot and the blue line does what it does, this could be a sweep as well.
