Details on Matt Paradis' Deal: Only 3.8M cap hit first year

It looks like a 2yr deal to me. If he's not a pro bowl caliber player we could be looking at an extension or cut after 2020 season.

He's a solid center. I really doubt he'll go anywhere. Hurney's trying to manage that cap---kind of compromise between today and tomorrow. We'll bring another player or two to compete now, and I bet they'll be relatively young.

Like I said earlier, you can manipulate the cap anyway you want. There is a cost to doing so, but if Paradis works out we won't be moving from him until his dead money is already accounted for. It seems like a good risk. First year of multiple year contracts are usually very cap friendly.

Fantastic signing hands down... all ya'll can hate on Hurney, but he has been better in his 2nd iteration.

This is an upgrade over late-career Ryan Kalil... Atlanta signing Alex Mack a couple of years back was arguably the best thing to ever happen to Matt Ryan

I do think with the way it's structured we will signing another EDGE player before the draft which would be smart so we can take BPA.

Makes you wonder if a DE is coming now?

Yep... would put us in a much better position for the draft... DE will still be a major need, but as is stands now, DE almost has to be the 1st round pick.

It may very well still be, but it at least gives us some flexibility if there is another player available Hurney wants to target

We've been spoiled with prime Ryan Kalil for a good while.

It's nice we'll be able to continue having solid center play for Cam for a good bit.
