Who is your favorite draft “talking head”

I love the entire draft process. Most fans dread the NFL offseason but, for me it starts a special time of year where I can dream and fantasize about that special player who would transform my team and set us up for the next dynasty.

I am not specially trained for the draft process. I don’t have access to a bunch of game mashups or do I specifically know the most important traits that define a player. That said I have picked up a few things from listening to “the talking heads”. From Matt Miller to Josh Norris they all have there specific ways they scout and interpret the draft.

Norris is a big Sparq and athletic percentage profile guy. Meaning guys with higher athletic testing generally have better chances of succeeding. That said, I love Mcshay and Kiper more than all because of they are 2 greats that are different ends of the spectrum. You get a broader outlook.. sort of like listening to Stephen a and skip Bayless.

I know most of the huddle  hates Kiper, I love him because no one is more passionate about the draft. He doesn’t take bathroom breaks ever during the draft. No one gets more pissed about people not seeing certain guys the way he does. Sometimes  Mcshay just says stuff to bust is balls about his favorite guys and it adds personality to the draft process.

Hate the guy if you want but his dedication to the process is the reason we are all talking draft in the common tongue. He revolutionized and made this information all public and gave rise to whoever your favorite guy is. I think he is a icon and the NFL owes the guy a gold jacket when he calls it quits. Thanks Mel for the hair and Saturday draft rants.

Mayock was great but I do prefer most NFL Network folks.  Pretty much like anyone talking draft to be honest.  Best sporting event IMO.  I take off days around the draft every year.

Same here. It’s like a holiday for me. I make sure I have all 3 days off, I have my draft books, food drinks and I lock in for the whole show.

they're all awful.  good god mayock, todd todd todd, and kiper are the worst.   kiper's picks lined up against the draft let me know a monkey flinging poo at a wall with names could do just as well

Daniel Jeremiah

Josh Norris for Panthers stuff

All the guys that run The Draft Network. (Seriously if you haven't seen their website check them out)

I like all of them and draft network is really good, I just can’t subscribe or pay for their content. But they are very detailed and probably worth it.

What makes you think they are awful? Everyone hits and misses.. there is no exact science to the draft, just people doing there best to evaluate which guys will have success. Mcshay seems very informed.. he is technical and by the numbers goes on the road does live broadcast from games and such. That and the fact he has is own company of guys scouts Inc. helping evaluate.

kiper is more that gut feeling guy.. he has missed on guys like jimmy clauses but he’s hit on a lot of guys most weren't projecting as well. That’s the funny thing about the draft process... people love telling you when you were wrong but never remember when you are right.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
