Random, Outdated, and Not Draft-Related: ICYMI, DeAngelo Williams is a huge a-hole

So, I randomly came across this video from 2017 that I had never seen before of DeAngelo Williams completely ripping into Kyle Brandt and Pete Schraeger of NFLN.  If you've ever watched their show, it's often goofy, sometimes corny, but always light-hearted...  except for this episode.  A conversation about an upcoming Pats-Steelers (who he was no longer even playing for) game took a left turn when DeAngelo ripped into the aforementioned for not playing pro football, so their opinion was worthless.  It came off even more arrogant, because Brandt actually played football at Princeton.  This was extremely tense and awkward.  It's just crazy to see how fan-friendly DeAngelo seemed to be early in his career, in contrast to where he ended up reputation-wise.  Words don't do this justice.  It was rough.

Yeah the years leading up to 'double trouble' and until he left the team I really liked how he presented himself. Then something changed and it seemed like he got very bitter...

Probably all the headshots he took.

His mother passed and it changed him.

Sad but it’s clear.  He didn’t take it well.

Exactly it. When a mother fuger laughs at his own poo constantly, and it's not funny and cringe worthy, it just looks like a total internet troll. What a tool man.

People saying he changed but maybe he was like that the whole time....

Idk, I never had personal interactions with him, but was under the impression that prior to his mother passing, he was very friendly and involved with fans and such...  it seemed he became more introverted, bitter, and standoffish after his mother passed.

I'm honestly not sure he actually "changed" at any point.

I think it's more that his early "nice guy" image was a carefully crafted illusion by some of his people.

I've thought this was possible as well, but he did do a lot of fan-centered events during the peak Double Trouble days and from every one here who interacted with him seemed like they genuinely enjoyed it and found him personable...  and he seemed very accessible and engaged a lot with fans on twitter in a friendly manner...  that's an awful lot of acting to keep up with for that many years, but idk...  it's possible.  I just never heard anything bad about him as a person until after things changed with his mother.

    • Not sure who said it first, but Tepper is the correct answer. Still, I'm gonna go with Kasay keeping it inbounds. If, you subscribe to the butterfly effect version of time travel consequences.... When we win SBXXXVIII everybody's lives change: Moose never breaks his leg, We win it all again in 05. Tommy Jone is unknown and Peppers stays home, Champs once more 2008. No artificial pig heart turning JR into a creepy weirdo, no lockout, no Clausen. Fox and Jake ride off into the sunset on their own terms. No 2-14, no #1 pick. But, no laptop, no Blinn, 3 years behind The Golden Calf of Bristol, we still get Cam. JR let's him grow his locs like he always wanted, Smitty sees Cam in a new light. Dreads swinging, (and Smitty with his 3 Lombardis behind him) Cam is old enough to get those calls. No Manning narrative, Cotchery TD, PI against Talib on Philly Brown, 10,000 RTP calls and Kony Ealy SB50 MVP. No Jeans Fridays, no Tepper. KB doesn't slip on his own meatsweat mid-route in SD, Cam becomes the 1st QB to win 10 straight SBs. Retiring after being elected 47th president of the US of A, Cam ushers in the Permanent Proletarian Revolution across the globe, Xi Jinping bows in awe. "ẄøŘƙƐṛ§ őF ŧĤə ŵØRłð, ŮŊÏŦƐ!!!"
    • Yeah your right the owner was copping hand shandies while all this was going down
    • I mean not surprised the Patriots took him in and aren't trying to push him out. They've been the most morally bankrupt team in the NFL for a long while. Wouldn't be surprised if Vrabel has his own dirt on Kraft/Brady and other assholes from that organization over the last couple decades.
