Jeff King is the best overall tight end. However, that is subject to change as quickly as Rosario is able to prove he can learn the blocking schemes well enough to land himself a starting spot.

Gary Barnidge is a lengthy and athletic pass catching threat, but he's not a great blocker by any stretch of the imagination and he's essentially a WR playing TE. He has come a long way in his blocking since he was drafted, but he's not there yet. Rosario is far ahead of him in that capacity.

I think honestly it's a 1A and 1B situation with King and Rosario. Barnidge has time, but Rosario has pretty elite pass catching skills where King as elite blocking skills.

The thing about the position is that people expect one guy to do it all, and the position is evolving now to where there are only two or three guys in the league that can do both with the effectiveness you need.

There is nothing at all wrong with platooning in and out with your tight ends.

rosario dawson = best tight end

as far as playing goes, though, dante rosario should be a WR. king is the best all around TE on the roster. barnidge could be given more opportunities and experience. he needs to be involved more.

the TEs should be playing a much larger role in the passing game.

If I recall correctly, hasn't Delhomme thrown 4 TDs...all to TEs?

It's a toss up for me. I like the fact that King catches just about everything thrown his way and blocks well. Rosario doesn't catch everything like King but has incredible athletic ability, great hands and some speed. Plus, he seems kinda hungry right now. I would really hate to lose either. Unless Barnidge shows us he has more when he gets the chance. Prolly not gonna be enough $$$ for all three. :(

yes...that is why they should be used more. build on your strengths. passing to the TEs is more of a strength than passing to the WRs this year.

if they want better production out of the RBs and WRs then start throwing to the TEs early and often. this will force defenses to pull their attention away from the running game or smith/moose.

the TEs are showing that they can be a huge threat and are a legit weapon in this offense (such as it is). there is no reason that they shouldn't be used more.

I agree with you, but TEs aren't generally that great with YAC yardage. In theory, TEs are supposed to be X-factors and compliment the offense, not make it. If you look at someone like Dallas Clark, he compliments Reggie Wayne and the Colts' receiving corps, but doesn't make up the whole of Manning's passing offense.

    • Bryce has been playing the best ball of his career the last three games IMO. He wasn't the reason we dropped the game in NOLA. Seattle's defense will be his toughest challenge yet this season
    • I'll be at the game Sunday and up until last year I had a perfect attendance record. Now however I have seen us lose to the Chiefs (last year) and the Bills (this year). So we can no longer rely solely on my ability to pound overpriced beers to propel us to a win.
    • I haven't been able to watch Seattle on a dedicated basis but the Seahawks are a much better team by the all accounts: eye test, record and DVOA. Defensively they are sick. Best DVOA in the league first in rushing and second in passing. Offensively their passing game has been on fire this year led by JSN I can easily see this being like the Buffalo game where things just get out of hand for us early, that being said this league really is week to week and Seattle does have the disadvantage of traveling cross country for an early game.  If and big if, the Panthers are able to effectively run the ball and limit the amount of time Seattle's offense has to generate explosive plays we have a path to winning this game.  Seattle fans won't be happy to hear this but bad Darnold is always lurking in the background. He is truly an enigma to root for bc he will have an incredible throw that only a few people can make but then will turn around and throw the most bone headed pick of all time.  I think ultimately we drop this one as ultimately it's human nature to be looking forward to that week 18 game. But man how special would it be to be leaving the stadium on Sunday with a win and a miracle dolphins upset
