Borrego would like Bridges to primarily be a PF

This plan is so fuging stupid.. It sounds to me like another way to get Batum on the court at SF.. Because it's clear Bridges can play SF.. And it makes it even more stupid that you drafted Washington to do the same thing...

No. No. No.

Someone did an analytics breakdown (I'll dig up the article) and it showed the lineups with Miles at the 3 were far and away our best this past season.  Situationally, he can be okay at the 4, but even in consideration of a small ball approach, that at max should be under 10 min/gm.

He needs 15+ min at the considering the lack of talent on this squad.  Not feeling it JB.

Still scratching my head here.

If he is the plan at PF, why waste the pick on Washington vs attempt a swing at a High (highest upsode in the draft) wing in Sekou Doumbouya.  Or trade even try trading future assets (protected 1sts) to move up for Coby White when you dam well knew Kemba wasn't going to accept your low ball offer

I get our hands our tied until the big contracts come off the books.  But when they do come off, NBA is a different animal then the other sports.  Player just dont follow the money.  And like you see a lot of national media members say, the thought that just because MJ is the Owner that he'll attract big FA is False.

When we have guys come off the books and have that cap.  If we dont have good building blocks that we've built through the draft, no one will want to come here.  Itll be the same cycle of over paying avg player big money because thats all you can attract.

The Boston radio guy on WFNZ really pointed this out the other day.  Mentioning look, Boston is a "big market" but what brought the Irvings, the Haywards etc in was the draft picks Tatum and Brown in the top 3, Smart at 6, IT3 late that turned into a trade asset.

Right now, if we dont get lucky with the ping pong ball.  There is nothing enticing here thats going to make a big FA say "hey I really want to play there and have a opportunity to compete

Well that's going to be terrible in the east where you have atleast 5 or 6 teams with competent big center play..

This is their refusal to play the hot hand. Bridges is playing better than Batum so maybe your 1st round draft pick who is showing he CAN be that guy should play. Bacon is also showing he can be that guy, he needs starter minutes. It's a young man's game and you MUST play your high draft picks when they show you they can play. That's how you get a young team that grows together and through growing pains and experience, learns where each other's shots are, where that guy is going to be.

This team has a lot of first round talent. They should be focusing on their draft investments instead of questionable, expensive and time consuming journeymen.

Since UNC players work out so well in Charlotte. Time to start shooting for the Duke guys.

By your thinking, we shouldve just found the best available UCONN player because every other players we've drafted in general have "worked out so well in Charlotte"

    • Watching games this year again and Bryce missed a wide open XL many times and some of them were in the endzone. I get the kid has mental lapses and hasn't broke out yet, but this is year three on a rookie deal! Cutting bait now is too early. If he hasn't gained anymore trust from his QB, posted any highlights, little production, or outright gets beat out then we can talk movement.
    • Samesies   I truly may just cash completely out of Panther football if we give him a long term deal that isnt necessary.  I have watched NFL for 50 years now and I can without a shadow of a doubt say you cannot win consistently with BY.  Way too many limitations to deal with.   I may come back around in 3 years when the inevitable happens and all parties are either cut and/or fired.  Giving him a deal before this season so you hopefully can get him cheaper in case he "blows up" or if you truly believe that he will has to be the most moronic decision a gm can make when the evidence is laid before you with different players
    • This is the one! I was at that game and all KB had to do was lay down on the corner after the pick or make an obvious tag while he was down. He had already ran a lazy route. Then if Cam would've just walked to the sideline like most elite QBs instead of trying to make the tackle.  A lot of people bring up the TJ Watt hit, but he just reaggravated a bunch of scar tissue from that play. And every Cam hater said that the running did him in and it was a dive tackle attempt on an interception that initially began the shoulder deterioration. He still went to New England later and would've got them in the playoffs had their A team not sat out the covid year. We quit on him too early. But hey how good was Teddy? Am I right?
