The Offensive Line

I see a lot of chip blocks in our future out of our TEs and RBs on that left side.  I just hope Williams holds up better than the Miami Hurricanes LT in last night's game.   He got absolutely DESTROYED!

I watched very little of that game last night, but in the little I watched either that Miami LT is straight trash or that FSU weakside DE is a top 10 pick next April.

I'm seriously concerned

I am too.  However, this is the preseason and RR maybe letting Washington call the shots to see if he needs to stick around.  Do I really believe that? No.  If this is the best we can put on the field to protect a quarter back then Cam should retire and the back ups better be ready to take a beating.  I hope there is a magic wand that can make things right in the next couple of weeks.  I've stood behind Ron since he came here but I'm starting to lean toward he needs to go.

Is it possible Big Daryl is on a  one year deal and wanted to play LT cause that’s where the big bucks are at.   Or like someone already said I think they could be trying to solidify  the right side for the coming years with hope Little’s is the future LT

By the way, they were about six other examples I didn’t feel like documenting today from the replay. The Texans line is the worst thing I’ve ever seen.

I appreciate your unbiased observations. How did you feel our second and third lines held up? Maybe it’s just me. I think the starting line is ok, they will be ok, but if we have an injury or substitute.........man o man.

Can you grab the clips of all of Cam's dropbacks? Just curious as to how it compares.

Look at the article I posted above. They have GIFS showing our line looking just like the Texans.  Although I think I we will improve.  I think that is what you are gonna get all year from the Texans.

Cant wait to see Speedbump McGee on 9/29. It will be. A pleasure watching Burns torch his lazy ass

Got it. Thanks.

The first sack, the play Cam scrambled to the right and threw the ball away, and then the play Cam was injured were all on par with these Texan catastrophes. Instead of just running like Joe did, Cam tried to stay behind the line to make a pass down field.

A lot of people seem to not want Cam to run. But honestly his ability to defeat blitzes with his legs creates big plays for the offense and helps keep him from taking big hits in the pocket.

    • Cooter, Kurb, others have passed on to glory….  Praise be.
    • Oh good for them! Hope this is the start of a long happy time in their lives here.
    • There was no reason to believe in either Cam or Jake as a top tier elite QB before those seasons either. Cam was an "athletic" QB in most people's minds and his passing skills were open for debate. And there was a bit to that as he was still trying to get that massive power in his arm tamed to be able to put some touch on his passes. And then, he did it. Missiles became bombs, the firing lanes became points of finesse. Cam grew up and leveled up, while still retaining the ability and drive to truck people whenever he wanted. And Jake... no one freaking believed in Jake except Jake himself. He got, and let's be honest with this, one chance in a losing game to make something out of his career. And he rose to the occasion like some kind of mythical hero and continued to do so for the season. He became a true leader for the team, and his gunslinger capabilities rehabbed Moose's career and created Smitty as a force in the league. Smitty went from a barker to a biter. But no one believed in Jake going in. And they trashed him on his way out. Now Bryce... who knows? I've seen some improvement. Maybe he finds his footing. His teammates seem to love and respect him and that means a lot. The game should be moving at his speed now. He has weapons available to him and maybe a defense that doesn't just roll over by the third quarter. And his coach seems to be moving this team in the right direction. Could he do it? It's up to him, if he can find the magic like Jake and Cam did. But don't doubt this, magic is really, really hard to find.
