If Cam isn’t a dual threat QB he is a below average QB.   They wouldn’t even run Cam freaking Newton to get a half yard with the game on the line.  A gadget is the better option? If that is true Allen gives us a better chance

The way the D played and the WRs got open....we easily handle Tampa  with an average QB tonight

Sincerely,

one of Cam’s biggest supporters (and that started pre-draft when most didn’t even like the idea)

if he is hurt.  Sit him. Simple as that.

Good on you for having the balls to say it. I thought the play calling was fun until that 4th and 1. Outside of a 3 or 4 plays of Daryl Williams getting taken to church Cam looked god awful.

I wouldn’t of said that a couple years ago though.  A non dual threat Cam a couple years ago would have been somewhere around average. We could win with him.

But whatever the cause....he has declined as a passer.  And if he isn’t a dual threat now? He is below average.

Playcalling was fine today.   We had a billion chances.

Cam is one of my favorite players of all time. This game hurt so bad.

I'm not ready for Cam to be done but that was as bad as he has ever played.

I am, however, a glutton for punishment and will spend the nextb10 days telling myself that the next game he will have rested and look better.

It was a complete and utter failure from start to finish. Coaching, play calling, execution. Everyone had a hand in this embarrassment.

I would like to see Cam run, if able, because he’s much more effective when he does. However, there were a few times it looked like he had a lane to run and didn’t do it. I’m not sure if the problem is mental or physical, but something definitely isn’t right.

Agreed.  If Cam can't Cam, then he isn't Cam.  Why would you play a Cam that's not Cam?

Ya dig?

That has always been my motto.  Anytime someone in the past has said Cam should run less I disagreed.   Cam being Cam is what made him great.  Doesn’t work any other way

Even at this exact moment that's fuggin retarded.

Shula: 51-28 (post season 4 out of 5)

Norv: 7-11

we had our greatest franchise success with Shula.  Obviously he does get all the credit but the record is what it is

Stats are for nerds.  Shula couldn't win at Bama and Norv has big big diamonds and they didn't come from his daddy.

    • Sure, he's said that, but what it really means is that he's just going to insist on being a two way player and the Jags want him as such. But he won't be a starter who plays every snap on both sides in Week 1, if at all during his rookie year.  This is the NFL, no rookie, no matter how good they might be, is going to be able to go through their first mini and training camps while splitting time on both sides of the ball and be ready to be a week 1 starter and go full time both sides. And if a team does that, then they're dumb. I think their plan is to start him mainly on offense to give Lawrence another weapon, and I'm guessing it means he'll be a rotational CB early in the season, maybe he comes in when they go to nickel, even if he then plays the outside and someone else shifts inside.
    • Keep the peddle to the mettle the devils are gassed
    • YAC isn't the only way to be a threat. Thielen's ADOT was 11 yards last year. He's stressing a defense beyond its first level. Renfrow's 2023 ADOT was 5.6 yards. He's settling into a soft spot under a zone and the defense bets that they can rally and tackle before he gets to the marker. That kind of popgun slot receiver play is fine, but we should hope to be able to find that ability in someone who can also bring another skill, whether that's a vertical threat, or some jet sweep/screen game YAC  ability, or even just being very large and blocking well. Every time we trot Renfrow out there, we limit what the defense has to worry about.
