Rivera confirms what Rodrigue reported, that it was Newton who came to the coaches to let them know his foot was hurting.

Not a good sign...

I don't see it that way. It was widely reported in the past that part of the reason why we played Cam through his previous shoulder injuries is because Cam wanted to continue playing. Understanding your own mortality and admitting you're hurt isn't necessarily a bad thing for an athlete.

"One game of footage" what the Panthers are as their plan B for 2019.

Are there other options?

Not sure what you expect them to do. If he wasn’t limping or showing any visible signs of distress that his foot was bothering, which he wasn’t, how exactly are the coaches supposed to know it’s sore without Cam telling them?

No other team in the league has had their QB rushing for as much as regularly as Cam has for the Panthers.

Whatever the future holds, it's beyond past time for our running backs to start making plays.

You guys better get used to the life with a young developing quarterback. Whoever the next QB is he's damn sure going to need some semblance of a consistent running game. Time for the backs to start earning their keep.

See that's the thing: Newton is the kind of guy who always wants to continue playing.

For him to voluntarily agree to sit down, I gotta figure the injury is bad.

I agree. Cam realize this is a long season and don’t want to limited the team while injured. Nobody knows his body better than himself. I say let him rest up and we will see how our backups are. Trail by fire
