I didn't even know the CW had news. Or at least pretended to. For some reason I want to believe her voice sounds like Glen post cactus.

They did back when Fox transitioned from 18 to 46 and switched to the CW. Still had a local news affiliate and they stuck around

Some of you already know, and this is boring (crap on it if you want, I hear ya): I’m a second-generation media guy. My dad was in the Charlotte media biz at WSOC for the first half of his career, and now he’s doing the same in the upstate of South Carolina.

I’ve learned: There’s a standard of conduct, generally speaking, especially from those who self-brand as “journalists.”

We have this conversation all the time, how many “journalists” spend their time on Twitter now grinding for likes and clicks. (If you want to play around on Twitter all day like a VSCO girl, that’s fine. Do that, but don’t call yourself a journalist).

There is such little “deep-dive” reporting, at least on the larger scale. Corporations who own these outlets are the worst—they put profits over integrity: In the journalism business, that’s borderline sacrilege.

They also put immense pressure on these people to generate heat, without shedding any light. It’s one of the reasons I don’t follow too many media people, other than Jourdan and Joe and a few others.

I try to follow people who: 1) are football people, 2) work for outlets that allow enough freedom to let their folks work as they see fit, 3) the ones stuck in a corporate bubble who are brave enough to report things correctly without caving into their bosses demands.

The rest, again, are just generating heat with no light.

There are no more journalists on the tube. They're "news readers"

I just wish he would wear a helmet. Ive seen a ton of close calls on those things. idiot divers uptown don't respect them.

Agree with this. Don’t really care about riding one with the foot injury. He gets in a wreck on one of those and the foot is the least of his worries. I would prefer he didn’t ride on one at all but if he is going to then he really should wear a helmet.

You're safe until you're hit by a car.  Then you are a grease spot.  Foot or not, this borderlines on poor judgement by a franchise player.  Remember Big Ben getting hit on his motorcycle and all the talk of contract clauses and putting yourself in danger outside of football, which is dangerous enough.  Just not smart.  Dogwhistling claim is coming from an ignorant place.

I bet if Cam scooted past you, you would frantically lock all your doors, turn your radio down, and stare straight ahead

    • Music and sex have been intertwined for decades I'm not speaking against that in itself. But that's a different subject from a discussion of quality. It's not just a problem limited to female artists. There are quite a few newer artists I like across hip hop and under other subgenres. But I avoid the copycat rappers who just spam auto tune like the plague. Much of this now is an effect of social media and the lines being blurred between glorified influencers who basically want to show you anything and everything and actual artists. I don't make it my mission to talk down on anyone I take the same approach as you and just don't listen. But this thread was directly Panthers related therefore I had an opinion. We're just going to have to agree to disagree regarding some mainstream rappers destroying the genre. I can tell you right now as far as real lyricists and top notch production there isn't much legitimate competition out there. It's actually comical. And going even beyond that where lyricism isn't necessarily a prerequisite there are still vastly superior artists now and from the past. Thankfully I've discovered a number of stellar rappers and producers (some do both simultaneously which is even more impressive) who are outside the mainstream over the years and it is factually night and day. I know I'm not alone in making this distinction. But at the end of the day. To each their own.
    • I don’t see an issue with fit in his playstyle.  I just don’t think he has it upstairs to win in the postseason.  Maybe I’m wrong and it’s just the Toronto stink.  But from what I’ve seen those 4 guys are more of the problem than not.  And he’s been a big part of that.  Zero game breaking ability in the postseason. But if we sign him I’ll obviously hope for the best l.
    • I think he fits, he's a two way player and had over or around 50 hits last season. Also I'm just going off what I heard. I can say he's definitely the top target FA wise, there are others via FA and trades that are also high on the list. They will go through the top players at every position and run the phones ragged trade wise.
