Cam derangement syndrome is a real thing

You’re taking a 3 game sample size for Allen’s accuracy percentage over a guy who’s played 9 seasons. I don’t think we have to go over the deficiencies of this team over cams career or having the lowest percentage wide receivers who can get open.

people really need to pump the fuging breaks and let things play out over the season to see where we stand with both Kyle and Cam. All this other poo is just dumb noise.

I was careful not to proclaim Allen anything but what he is, but three games is all we have.  9 seasons of getting pounded does not suggest that the next five or six are going to be equal or better. There has never been a QB as physical as Cam--if you take away his running, he is average at best.  I said early on that if he keeps taking a beating he will not have a Brady/Brees length career.  So while I cannot evaluate Allen on three games, you probably should not evaluate Cam based on the past 9 seasons.  His body ain't what it used to be.  He never developed into a pocket passer who reads defenses like he needs to---so I am trying to be realistic.  I could be wrong, but if the history of players who take similar beatings (RBs peak at age 27 and drop 30% a year after that, cumulatively) are considered, this could be the beginning of the end for Cam.  So yes, I could be wrong, but Cam would have to defy odds to prove me wrong.

You're a little off base since my avatar is a woman holding a sign in Vegas.  This has nothing to do with whatever you are trying to reference besides a person holding a sign.  I think you are trying to create this deep separation as to appear in control, but it is just a cry for help.  I know life can be hard at times, but if you ever need someone to talk to, send me a PM.

yeah it's absolutely fair! like i think it's a very reasonable take that in fact cam newton with an injury to the lisfranc complex that kept him from being able to complete a simple walk around the perimeter of the field two weeks ago would've had trouble out there today. totally agree with this!

I will say this...I spoke to my brother after the game. I did say...I dont think Cam could have have escaped Watt there. But that was with the understanding that were not seeing Cam at his healthiest. I just didnt attach a disclaimer to it.

Cam had 70% completion Through 8 games while his arm was falling off. He was finally “getting it.”

im not saying you dismiss everything you’ve said. The biggest thing to me is the deep pass. If he can’t throw deep he’s done. But it’s incredibly premature to toss this dude aside after a backup who has played 3 games. That’s how you get fired real quick.

I get it, and the best case scenerio is that both are able to play at a high level.  I am not trashing Cam--I have been worried that the day would come when his body started showing signs.  My enthusiasm for Allen is that we now can win without Cam if we have to---immediately and long term (hopefully).   If I was confident Cam would return to form, this would be simple.  I simply wonder if he has given us all he has and that RR may have whipped his horse into the ground.

Sports are getting worse with stuff like this. You've got jackasses getting banned from basketball stadiums now because they can't make it a mere few hours without hurling around racial slurs.

The Panthers residing in the South doesn't help matters at all. Just be honest.

It’s tough because I understand the economics behind it also. We get a cheaper deal qb we can do a ton to surround him. But you’re gambling. You’re also gambling on Cam’s health.

that’s why I’m making no concrete opinion until after the season unfolds and we see how Kyle plays as well as if Cam comes back from injury.

There is another factor that could be in play--this new offense needs someone who can throw screens and get the ball out quickly to speedy, shifty players.  When we brought Cam in, we were running the vertical routes, where Cam could drop back, send the WRs deep, drag the TE, and run for daylight.  The QB in this offense is a different animal--we still only have 5-6 games of healthy Cam in this system, but is Allen's skill set a better fit?

I do not know, but there are many factors people are not considering because they want to make it about loyalty and race---non issues.  I see both sides, and the bottom line: who gives the team the best chance to win?

    • Lol, good one. Rod will never let Necas Play center
    • All I can say is... I have some happiness off the rags choking and losing to the Panthers. Hopefully the Western conference team wins the Stanley cup, but now I can be 100% uninvested in the playoffs
