This is going to be fun to watch this season...in our first four games:

Mario Addison

5.5 Sacks (On pace for 22 sacks a quarter of the way through the season.  Not happening but yeah lol)

Brian Burns

2.5 Sacks (Showing some pep; I like what I've seen)

9 QB hits

Christian Miller

2 Sacks (He was minimized with Bruce back but is my favorite rookie)

Shaq Thompson

2 Sacks

Bruce Irvin

1 Sack

Dontari Poe

1 Sack

Vernon "Da Fuq did that come from?" Butler

1 Sack

Honestly, I think Irvin is in a great spot here as well.  Miller got a dose of game time early and showed what he's about.  Now he can slowly work his way into things.

Burns will quickly emerge as a star.  I liken him to Matt Judon but with even more upside given his get off speed.

Such a deep crew.

McCoy forced at least one of those sacks yesterday. You don't grade interior defensive linemen on sacks anyways.

I did see mccoy getting good pressure at times but you do grade guys like mccoy and short on sacks. You dont grade guys like poe and lotulelei on sacks.

I’d like to think this too but he’s been underwhelming in the sacks department.

10 sack kk might be gone but even if he doesn’t get that production he’s still a good player who can make impact plays.

Yeah that's what I'm saying.  Short's presence will help everyone out even if he isn't getting sacks.

And holy crap, now that I think about it, our front seven is so damn talented that I forgot we had Kyle Love!  It's only a matter of time before he starts making plays too, he always does.

Irvin, Burns, Addison, Miller, Haynes, McCoy, Short, Love, Thompson, Poe, Kuechly... a ridiculous front seven.  Even Jermaine Carter has been playing very well this year.

I could really tell that Bruce Irvin was providing some pass rushing juice yesterday.  He is going to be a big addition once he gets up and running at 100% again.  He was all over the place yesterday.

    • Apparently CSW lost his starting job to Thornton last year. If he can stay healthy I bet Thornton keeps that NB position.
    • I member him staying after practices with only to see he was wearing heavy weight vest, one of his trademarks. He also put in 10 years, right? People forget he was the ST stud that called the snap and made sure everyone lined up right. He was one of the "glue" guys that bought his "lunch pail" to work.... He was a willing solider, all teams need a couple of them. He blocked for sooo many panthers RBs- Davis, lane, Williams, foster, goings and when there was huge injuries he took over the starter duties and had a couple 100 yard games. If you followed hoover, he took the perfect RB path cause he was just a slow heavy one himself....
    • Walker likely depends on a couple of things. What exactly did Dan promise him, to start with.  How much other interest he actually had for a starter job at high pay is another question. It isn’t outside the realm of possibility that he could stay on as a swing tackle waiting to take Moton’s spot when it opens.    I can’t get myself to consider Icky as a viable anything until we see him back on the field.     Hunt seems to be a team player and good guy but I don’t think he is worth what he is being paid. I have him tentatively earmarked for cap causality in the near future.
