Lets talk the Bucs

Already played once

Cam was hurt and it hindered this offense.  Completely missing WRs who were getting wide open

And we STILL had a opportunity to win but Norv got cute

Our O vs their D.

Our WRs were WIDE open the whole game last time.  Their secondary isnt good.  So if you can hold up to their front 7, you will have success

Their Strength is the front 7.

Their front 7 tore our OL a new one last game even with a healthy Trai Turner

Suh put Turner on his butt and Vea manhandled Paradis/GVR clogging up the middle.

They also have the hottest edge rusher in the league right now.

He had himself a game last go around

The other side

James Bradberry has done a good job shutting down Evans.  But outside of the Rams, others have as well and its on the verge of boiling over

Chris Godwin will be the key though.  I Loved this kid coming out and wanted the panthers to draft him.  He's a freak as well.  Just as a comparison

DJ Moore- 6'0 210 4.42, 15 bench, 39 vert, 4.07 shuttle

Chris Godwin- 6'1 209 4.42, 19 bench, 36 vert, 4.00 shuttle

We've missed Jackson, but even with Jackson, he's been a mismatch.  He ate Jackson's lunch last time.  Godwin has been killing other DBs as well this season

The Bucs OL is beat up, but they were already terrible to begin with.  And did better than any other team we've faced

All in all, its a winnable game.  But going to be the toughest matchups we've faced this season

Another thing to watch

Bucs Highly touted MLB.  Devin White, the guy many here liked and some thought they draft just because of McCaffrey and Kamara

He missed the last game, But is back practicing, so he could be a go for them this week

Interesting matchup. We're currently the #4 overall rushing offense going against their #2 overall rushing defense, which isn't a good indicator for CMC.  They limited him to 53 yards from scrimmage, 2.3 yards per carry, and only 37 rushing yards. Every other game CMC played this year he's gottten minimum 93 rushing yards so their run defense is legit.

They are 26th overall in leauge in defense though , which is caused by them having the WORST passing defense in the league.

So we need to challenge them through the air, its not that complicated. The oline and Norv need to figure out how to pass block long enough for Allen to spread the ball out. Gameplan should probably include a lot of up tempo passing offense so they don't have time to get set and tee off on Allen .

I believe this D is closer to Arizona than Houston or Jacksonville.  Look for the air game to open up and Allen to have a multi TD game.

Actually more like Houston

Arizona's interior DL is terrible

Tampa like Houston has a strong front 7 and can really get after the QB

Yeah this doesn’t feel like a good matchup when our running game is what our strength is right now and they are like top 3 in the league in rush defense. We’re gonna have to ask Kyle to do a lot this game methinks. And I’m worried about the oline holding up especially against Barrett and Suh. I think this game is gonna come down to if we can pass block well enough to get the passing game going. Their secondary sucks ass.

Yup.Double team Barrett, lock down Godwin, and KA throws more accurately...that's hard!

We need Action jackson and Little.

Going to take more than just Jackson.  The loss of Jackson worried me the last 2 weeks because the speed recievers we faced (Fuller, Chark, westbrook).  Godwin has the Size and still has speed (see the DJ Moore comparison).  He ate Jackson up last game, and was probably Jackson's worst game outside of last year's steelers game.  Just a bad matchup for him, so we are going to need some help

Barrett, yes the LT this week will be better than Little was.  But will still be hard to double team.  Vita Vea took double teams last game and we still struggled with him.  Suh normally requires a double team as well.

While talking about the strength up front on the DL for them.  They did a good job shutting CMC down even without Devin White (the athletic freak LB they drafted in sole purpose to shadow him)

CMC this year

vs the Rams: 19 carries 128 yards 6.7 avg

vs Arizona: 24 carries 153 yards 6.4 avg

vs Houston (without Trai Turner): 27 carries 93 yards 3.4 avg

vs Jax (without Trai Turner): 19 carries 176, 9.3 avg

vs Tampa (With Turner): 16 carries 37 yards, 2.3 avg,

    • The Bucs waived shilo sanders after he got ejected.
    • I'm just tired of ppl saying he's so accurate and then have to see recievers slow down to recieve the ball, ruining any chance at YAC
    • Some people will really look at stuff like this and say "no more excuses" but then make excuses to try and explain away the validity of big-time throws. 🙃   Back on topic though, as I mentioned in the other AT thread earlier, I hope that the team is still exploring the deal. If the Vikings want the Panthers to take on some of the salary, then it had better be at worst a 4th-round pick (though I imagine Dan angling for a 3rd). If they're willing to take on all of it, then maybe at worst a 5th. Tough pill to swallow, giving up a 4th for a 35yr old WR, but if MIN believes they can have similar success behind McCarthy then it could be a smart deal for them. Hell, if AT has any gas in the tank and gives them a 1yr sweetheart deal to close out at home, even better for Minnesota. Yea, Bryce loses his best and most reliable WR. Hunter Renfrow though isn't what I would call a huge step down though (if he's as advertised throughout camp), and it gives more reps to TMac + XL + Coker. This season is all about continued development and answering some of the looming questions (Is Bryce the guy? Is Evero the DC going fwd? How do the young WRs develop? How long does it take this defense to bounce back from being historically awful?).
