Man, unpopular opinion but you really have to consider shopping the kid in the off-season. His stock is as high as it will ever be.

Crazy thought

I mean, we could keep him as a backup.  Considering we have Cam who has been injury plagued the past couple seasons and taken more hits than any QB in NFL history.   I mean he is cheap....and Cam could fug up something again

If Kyle stays consistent (Game Manager) middle of the pack or better quarterback. If Cam is significantly less then 2015 version and is also morphed into a middle of the pack game manager. I'll take Kyle at 15 - 20 million a year and invest elsewhere to continue winning. Then paying Cam, 27 - 32 million a year.

I was told he isn't good.

he's got a simplistic game plan, and he's pretty much being asked to not fug it up. same thing for Bridgewater, the other two are actually making plays. I've honestly not been impressed with anything from him outside of the Cardinals game.

Hope he keeps up the good work, would like to see him progress more and more.

we have a multitude of options available due to Kyle’s play, keep him and see if he can be cam’s Heir apparent, if the staff thinks not, trade him while his stock is high for very good compensation(highly doubt), or ultimately if cam isn’t who can is anymore we move on from cam and sign Allen to a cheap contract and surround the team with more talent to make a couple runs(highly doubt as well)

When Cam comes back healthy, this is his team. We then have 2 options with Kyle. 1) Keep him as a very good backup. 2) Try and trade him. Either way, we are probably not the team to give him his second contract.

I just don't see a way we can keep Kyle around long enough to be Cams' heir apparent. That is just to far into the future. I just don't see Kyle taking a second contract just to be Cam's backup.

Unless Cam never returns to form. In that case, nevermind.

I can see why he wouldn’t want too, but there’s a slim chance he hedges his bets on cam staying healthy and knows he’s maybe has another golden opportunity in the near future due to cam’s Recent injury history

If he’s traded I’d be a little bum but would definitely understand, his stock is high, get what you can while he’s hot, plus we have an investment in Grier still on the roster

I think we have both Kyle, and Grier for 3 more years. If Cam is healthy, I don't see either one of them getting a second contract from us. I would hope both would want to spread their wings and leave the nest.

That all hinges on Cam getting back to, and staying, healthy for at least the next 3-4 years. By then, we will have to find another backup. But that is small price to pay for a healthy Cam.

    • lol, that second part is quite literally one of the dumbest things ever. Having or not having guaranteed contracts has absolutely nothing to do with how much these billionaires have to pay.  Because there is a hard cap and a minimum cap spend requirement, and teams either use their cap or roll it over to use it all the next year, so the owners have to pay the same amount of money in the end no matter what. Having fully guaranteed contracts in the NFL would only hurt salary cap management, and thus would end up screwing over the team and its fan base when teams kiss on signings as they take up cap room that is needed to improve the roster. Look at the Browns with Watson, they gave him the fully guaranteed deal and all it’s doing is sucking up massive cap space now.  If they hadn’t done that, the owner would still be paying the same amount of money each year as that cap space would still be used elsewhere. If you want to argue for fully guaranteed contracts because the players deserve it, that’s an entirely different argument and a fair one to discuss.  But anyone against fully guaranteed deals isn’t doing it to argue for the billionaire owners.

    • Ryabkin could be the steal of the draft, he was a Top 10 pick heading into last season and had a rough year.  Lots of GMs passed on him because of that and his workouts. Pick has really high upside and Svech should be able to translate Rod tearing his arse a new one for making dumb plays since Svech has had several years of it.  🤣😂
