Not saying it hasnt, Rivera has always been a defensive minded coach and has always carried this team.  The last few season's it really dropped.

Now our playoff seasons though the offense was about even with the D.  When the D struggled the O picked them up, see the 2015 ginats game, see the Saints playoff game 2 years ago even though it was a loss

Yes, actually! It's not mutally exclusive!

The Titans defense lets up 15 ppg on average so far this season. Their defense has been lights out.

Their offense can't score out of a wet paper bag.

The Jets WRs are pretty high up in getting separation. Like Falk could not get the ball to them.

It is. Entirely possible to commend Allen for looking good, doing his job and executing the gameplan well and it not be a slight on Cam.

Stop being so goddamn insecure.

You keep going back to the one odd season in 2015 as the norm.  That season is the exception. 

We were a defensive team and ball control team all others.  Some weren’t even close.  I mean in 2013 we were a true dominant defensive team.  

Cam did carry and one man show a lot of those offenses.  They just weren’t good offenses overall.  But they weren’t actually asked to be either.  Shula ball era.

Funny how you specially point out playoff seasons when  only 2 out of the 8 season in the Cam era was the defense ranked significantly higher than offense (2012 and 2013) outside of those two years the offense has been either identical or leaps better than the defense.

 

And that’s with the majority of our recourses used on defense and our offense being tailored to help the defense

Well if you don’t make the playoffs?  Nothing really matters. 

We had top 10 defenses in 2013, 2014 and 2017 playing ball control defensive Shula ball.  What season was the offensively higher ranked of those?

It matters cause you are leaving out context. The fact is it was defenses fault we didn’t make the playoffs those seasons, when you are a defensive HC using the majority of the resources on that side of the football

 

2014???? We had the 21st ranked D 

in 2017 it was balanced with the 10th ranked D and 11th ranked offense like I stated.

and if you use DVOA as OP does.

we leaned defensive every season we made the postseason.  Includes Cam’s MVP 2015 season. 

Try to knock Allen because our D is helping win games is just whack and basically ignores how we win every season we actually have won.

Stats are great in context. The goal is to score more points than the opponent does and that is game specific. So against Tampa we gave up tons of passing yards but as long as we won  does it matter? You might argue but if we did that against a good team we would lose. Look at Houston. We beat them by 6 and against Jacksonville 7. Was the defense better or worse? Each game you play against a specific opponent and as long as you score more points than they do that week you win. So by that measure they have been good enough.

Obviously points for versus points against is the most important stat. The next one to me is red zone efficiency. The defense gave us lots of opportunities and short fields but unless you convert them to touchdowns it isn't the huge advantage folks think. Being efficient on offense is a huge weapon and usually leads to wins. One of the main keys in most of our playoff seasons.
