Coaching is the #1 issue IMO. Nagy looks like a fraud who rode Andy Reid's coattails. His play calling isn't giving the OL much of a chance nor the RBs many opportunities.

Yeah the offense is a complete mess when they really should be utilizing Montgomery and Cohen properly to open things up for the pass. Burton is also very talented.

It really makes no sense. The Saints' were just pinning their ears back and coming full bore with their pass rush because they new Chicago wasn't running the football.

Watson was a super easy pick to make.  I can’t fault them for not getting CMC when they needed a QB.

They had also just drafted Jordan Howard the year before who ran for 1300 yards and made the pro bowl as a rookie. Drafting a RB shouldn’t have even been remotely a consideration.

Thought we were giving draft picks 5 years before making concrete conclusions

Tends to take at least three years or so, in my opinion.

By any measure you would choose to use right now though, kind of hard to argue against the notion that Watson, Mahomes and McCaffrey are looking significantly better than Trubisky.

Wetzel has seen enough, and he certainly isn't sugarcoating it. I actually feel a little sorry for Trubisky here. Can't imagine how I'd feel seeing my drafting referred to as "the original sin".

His stat line isn’t horrible and when the Bears decide to utilize him correctly and he’s healthy he will likely look the part.

Not that I disagree that the aforementioned 3 look better at the moment.

I don't go by stat lines.

Stat lines would tell you that Matt Stafford is a better quarterback than Cam Newton.

I go by what I see.

What I see watching Trubisky just isn't good enough.

When you say QB do you mean passer, rushing, or a combination of the two?

There are several statistical categories where Stafford has been better than Newton over the years.

But among other things, he's not clutch. No way in hell I'd take him over Newton.

Stafford is actually my go-to example as to why stats don't tell the whole story, but he's not the only one.
