In ron's defense, that was the first time he's played against kyle shanahan's offense

There is some evidence to suggest that Rivera has a lot of trouble handling newfangled offenses.

Shanahan and Payton have certainly owned him more than once in the past. And McVay ran all over us Week one this year.

Imagine an offense design to showcase the dynamic playmakers on our team. McCaffrey, Samuel and Moore would kill it with the type of creative play calling Shanahan put on us today.

Sadly, it's a pretty valid point.

Said it elsewhere. Rivera can be good, but not great. At this point, he's kind of like that comfortable outfit you refuse to throw out despite the fact it's got a dozen holes in it.

I know we're going to get the standard "we could do much worse" response from some, but that's just not a good enough reason to keep a coach that's clearly hit his ceiling.

And the reality is that we could also do a lot better.

Yup when a pattern starts to form you know it's time to move on. We are holding onto Jason Garrett at this point.

Do you think a healthy Cam would have made a difference? Kyle Allen was awful. The Turner hold was a killer. Bad all around effort.

I don't think it would have mattered. Turner, Williams, and anyone at LT killed the offense.

We still lose and I think it is still a blowout.  But maybe it is closer with Cam... honestly with the time allen had i dont think anyone would have won us that game.

My chosen avatar for Rivera is John Fox.

They're basically the same guy.

Except Rivera has won a bit more with more talent. Tepper after this season will have to decide if he takes a risk and cans Rivera while he still has a ok team or just let's the wheels fall off and rebuilds.

Sucks watching this team get wasted with such a poo HC like Rivera for so long. Always been a glorified DC.

This team with an Offensive minded HC with a DC who used to be a HC like several successful teams in the league atm would be so damn dangerous. Instead you never know when this team is going to poo the bed or just barely eek out a win even when they get out to huge leads.

hes not even a glorified DC. we had one season with elite defense in 2013. 2015 was really good but not elite (as we saw in the SB). every other year has been either mediocre or has sucked total ass.
