I still believe Allen gives us the best chance to win for the rest of the season.   He may need to improve his decision making a bit but the core skills are there.  Cam may still be rusty, not fully recovered, and we may see us drop a game or two because of that.

We competed last year with the Saints with a nerfed and hurt Cam.  We will compete with the Saints (in Carolina). 

We have beat Aaron Rodgers the last 3 consecutive times we have faced him.  We will compete with GB.

Really isn’t a major difference between giving up 40 burgers vs 5.   Poo happens.  Those were good defenses. Those were postseason Ron teams. 

 

Good teams don't consistently give up 40+ points every year, historically get embarrassed after bye weeks, find a competent player that was riding the bench behind an unsuccessful starter. This consistently happens with Ron teams.

Just saying, some of Ron’s postseason teams have given up 40 burgers.  Multiple ones in a playoff bound season. Poo happens. 

As for right now, through 7 games.  The 49ers game simply is what it is.  You can’t judge a team based off one game.  Good or bad. 

It is like the Gamecocks beating UGA.   UNC almost beating Clemson.  You those are just one time events.  They happen in football.  You see it on every level.

Daley is a 6th round draft pick.

Daley played well above his expectations once in a game.  This isn't a "ron teams" thing.  To start this season if we had a 6th round draft pick starting on our line, these forums would have freaked out.  While I have issues with some of RR's decisions..this is not one of them.  This is just a case of "whatever RR does, its wrong".

There is a post in another thread this very morning that says essentially “even if they somehow get things turned around and we win the SB this year, Ron should be fired after the parade.”

Now putting aside how unlikely that scenario seems, think about how absurd on its face it would be to fire someone after they won the SB.

5) Carolina Panthers (4-3)

The NFC is unreal. Just looking at the 49ers, Packers, Saints, Seahawks, Vikings, Cowboys and Rams, that's seven teams vying for six playoff spots. Honestly, I think the Panthers are right on the borderline here, which is why I have them listed last among contenders. If Carolina goes back to Cam, they could definitely spiral down into the pretenders.
