A purely statistical analysis of Kyle Allen this season

Are they seriously using a two game sample size when Cam's foot was hurt? One of those games was against Tampa who sold out to stop Christian McCaffrey. What if we took two games from Allen, one being Tampa, and compared them as well?

The stats aren't showing that CMC is rushing better with Allen as much as it shows that he runs better when the QB is under center.  This is over his whole career and not just this season.  His point is that the Panthers use Kyle under center much more than they did with Cam,  it is well known that Cam preferred the shotgun.

Is there any RB that doesn’t run better with the QB under center? A great RB can only take you so far so most teams will build an offense around a QB strengths rather than the RB.

Mccaffrey had a better game rushing with Cam vs TB then with Allen. Mccaffrey also had statistically his second best game of the season with Cam vs the rams

The quarterback is not what I would consider a glaring weakness. He’s an average quarterback. He certainly has responded nicely to a very difficult situation, having to come in and guide group of vets that were 0-2.

Some elements of the run defense concern me. I’m still not completely convinced elite edge rushers won’t destroy yes o-line rotation. There was very little interior pass rush against Tenn.

The 49ers never saw them.

Derrick Henry didn't see much of them either, at least not when Mike Vrabel let him play.

They really did us a solid by inexplicably just not running the ball in the 1st half, then they had to play catch up the majority of the 2nd half forcing them to largely abandon the run.

I was absolutely baffled.

That was definitely one of those "what the hell are you doing" moments.

they did try to run in the first half, but also tried to stay balanced.  Ron indicated we actually went in with a plan on how to stop the run in the 1st half, they made adjustments at half time, and then we made adjustments on subsequent drives.  Seems possible.

when they run on 1st down and we stop it / hold it to under 3 yards, it changes drives. that happened repeatedly in the fist half.  not so much in the 2nd.

They had five total called runs in the first half.

    • I mean this is legit AF statement....you don't spend that draft capital on a project just like you don't trade up for an injured RB either, which was done in the same draft.  That draft IMO was a necessary evil for DM to learn from his mistakes (I think he did but some may not). Also I have to mention I'm a big Coker fan and think getting him as an UDFA was obv a steal.  Coker is the better WR2 at this point as Legette and its not even debatable unfortunately.  Give him year 3 but don't expect much from him.  Continue in the offseason with adding as much talent and competition on the roster as possible including WR.  Or just trade his ass for peanuts and continue to build roster by any means.......
    • Losing him was a huge loss. Look at how the Bears went from a 5 win team to now a 11 win team. The Lions offensive line is bad this year, secondary is bad and Campbell going for it on 4th down all the time has cost them games instead of taking the Field Goals. Goff is inconsistent as well.
    • Nah we just talking about giving a platform and normalizing predators (who both beat women) opinions and celebrating it if it fits your narrative.  If that's fun I'm fine being a miserable fug by not supporting P.O.S like that. N b4 you call me a libtard or some other dumb ish know I'm an Anarchist/Libertarian and believe both these dudes should get a complete ass whooping (at min) or something worse for what they have done to women in this world.
