Rivera defenses beats up on bad/mediocre teams, inflates our stats, then when it's time to face a real offense we more often than not get exposed. Has happened for 9 straight years now.

Our defense hasn't beat up on anyone medicre or otherwise.  We can get sacks and force turnovers, but if we can't do those things, then we can't stop anyone.  Our dline gets abused and pushed aside, and if that happens, it doesn't  matter who is behind them.  

We have the worst run defense of anyone in the NFC.  It has been getting progressively worse since 2015 and has reached the bottom of the barrell.  

That being said, the o and d lost the game.

The refs neutered the defense. I've never seen so many holds in my life, in both the run and pass game. Every fuging play a defensive lineman was getting tugged from behind, had their arm held down from behind, or just straight up bear hugged.

Plain and simple they scored more pts than we did. Mostly you lose when the number of pts for the other team is more than the points for the north and south Carolina United states of America caroli a panthers football team have at the end of the fourth quarter even if gerald should have been more gentle with erin andrews.

The run D was absolutely terrible. I have no idea why they weren't just running it down our throats late. Their OC kept us in the game with a pass happy attack.

16 points isn't gonna win many NFL games in 2019 though.

That's not even Ron's to take credit. That's the roster performing in those. I honestly believe this is why we lose to consistently good teams like the Packers. Ron gets out coached. He can't make adjustments to stop the run. 

 

All this hybrid D talk, I have yet to see the 4-3 ran when we are getting gashed by the run.

They stopped running the ball in the fourth qtr, probably possibly due to the snow.  That is why they stopped scoring.  Don't get me wrong, our defense made some nice plays in the 4th against the pass.  But we never stopped their run game, they just went away from it.

Ask yourself.  Was there any doubt if GB needed to score, could they Panthers defense have stopped them

In reality we were in a position to tie up the game. We didn't.

Here we go with this poo again, damn i guess if the panthers want any chance of winning the defense needs to whole teams to 0 points consistently, thats the only chance we got.
