DJ Moore perspective

Moore didnt seem to start off to hot.  We can point fingers to why.

Smitty called him out as he called out the WR group the other week.   Moore has since responded.

But just saw a cool stat. And we forget how young Moore is.

Nobody has patience anymore. Playing WR was considered one of the harder positions to learn for rookies. Now we expect everyone to play like seasoned vets year one.

Lots of people called Shaq a bust. Now people are panicking we may not be able to resign him. DJ Moore is a stud

Only Shaq suckers think that. Fact is our run defense has fell off since Davis left.

I was contemplating starting a thread on this.  It's really hard to judge DJ and Curtis because of our troubles at QB and on OL.  With a healthy OL and QB for a full season, I think they'd be looking pretty damn good.  Curtis has not a single season where he was healthy and we had a healthy QB for the entire year.

DJ appears to be improving the most though, and I think he's got a chance to be our 1.

I don't think Samuel has regressed.  He just wasn't good to begin with.  He was a project player and a poor draft pick.

You could be right. Either way we are going to have to invest multiple drafts to fix our offense.

That’s a whole different story. And it’s not attributed to Davis as much as it is to losing Star IMO. If you remember, our run defense was TERRIBLE the season before we drafted Star and KK. Star doesn’t get enough credit for being an elite space eater because he didn’t get the sexy sack stats. But look at both our run defense since losing him and Luke’s career since losing him. Star did a LOT for this team and for freeing up Luke that goes under appreciated around here

It was regressing before he left.  Its been regressing since 2015.  And Shaq has nothing to do with our dline getting pushed around.

It's pretty obvious that teams run right at him while focusing on Luke. Both Davis and Luke pretty much could wrap their man up and take him down. Not try to blow him up while allowing 7 extra yards to do so.

DJ has but Samuel has regressed. Our offense just doesn't have much talent at any position besides QB and RB.

I don’t think Samuel has regressed, but just not improved in other areas of the position as we hoped. He’s an elite deep threat but we just can’t get him the ball down the field for whatever reason (Kyle’s arm strength, OL, etc.). If we had 2015 Cam right now, Samuel would be putting up 1500 yards.

You are not wrong with that. We paid the wrong DT.

Samuel can't even catch with his hands and Allen throws a more catchable ball than Newton. 2015 Newton would have been drilling balls to WRs. The simple fact that Samuel doesn't understand you have to fight for the ball and come back to your QB when he's running is a perfect example of how he never will be a good WR.

    • Who were we going to trade up with? The Dolphins wanted Proctor, the Rams were vehement on taking Ty Simpson, the Ravens wanted Ioane, and the Bucs werent trading with us except for maybe a kings ransom. Even if we wanted to move, we had no partner. Moot point.
    • Devin Lloyd is a stud lb but who is next to him? Prince and Nic should improve. Lee was super value but i am not counting this fourth round chicken yet. I would expect some improvement; hope to eat my words w/ a top ten D.
    • I mean I agree about diminished Cam probably still being viable. Even though it gave a preview of how teams would defend the pass against a limited QB. There was an issue with the upcoming contract he was due to get and his expectations vs the new reality of his physical status - that people tend to  overlook when looking back on it  It had an effect on things I believe   But I do have to ask… what about Tepper’s second major move? fuging clueless   I mean I would take even an injured  Cam over Bryce all day long.
