If Ron is retained...

Why does the medical staff and Marty Hurney (with half the fanbase) face 0 accountability for the fact our franchise QB was allowed to play with a lysfranc injury, A shoulder injury, and not to mention 3 D-LINEMAN Injuries. There is only 1 way Ron should be coaching in 2020... the ENTIRE medical staff is fired and replaced with TOP NOTCH medical professionals. Someone needs to fall on this sword, we’re getting to a point that it’s not even just Cam... Daryl Williams was cleared last year when he clearly shouldn’t have been.

Next issue: It’s the GMs job to make sure to have depth for the head coach in the even of injury. Gettleman accomplished that 4/6 season with 3 division titles and a wild card berth...We had injuries even in 2015 and we had people ready...

Ron’s record with Gettleman:

2013 12-4

2014 7-8-1

2015 15-1

2016 6-10

2017 11-5

Gettleman had a job in months, Hurney didn’t have one in 6 years... that should tell us something.

Gettleman ALWAYS had depth on the d-line. 2016 was the WTH year...

I could honestly see this ending with Hurney canned and Ron retained. History shows Ron had success with a different GM.

But this is more towards the medical staff then the GM. Seriously like what the heck is going on??? I know injury years happen, I kept calm during 2014 knowing we just lost Steve smith and 2016 cause super bowl hangover...

I understand Tepper keeping Rivera,(history of success)but keeping Marty was VERY questionable.

I don’t see how it’s going to flow Ron getting fired when anybody and their mother sees we have nobody in the trenches, half our lineman were limping off the field half the game (medical staff again). We are being greedy when the fact is whether KA is the future or not, we spent all of this offseason gameplanning for Cam and had to go to a more traditional pro offense when Cam gets hurt.

I know CH will hate it, but I see virtually no way Rivera gets fired this offseason. You don’t make comments like “I’m not concerned about my job security” when you’re on the edge of the seat. I think Hurney takes the sword this January and if Rivera loses with a  new GM, he gets the axe the year after that.

Frankly, I’m curious to see what Rivera does with a GM that the Panthers actually interview. We’re not winning next year with a new coach, Cam will be cut if Rivera is fired.

If I had to choose. I’ll take Ron 1 more year if Hurney and the medical staff is completely gutted and we start anew there. Ron loses again next year, he is fired and we go into 2021 with a high draft pick or Cam or KA played well enough to get extended.

What does Hurney have to do with playing Cam with an injury, this thread makes no sense

The thread was about the Medical staff AND Hurney. I see this being a 1 or the other falling on the sword. I don’t see Tepper trying to hire a head coach AND GM in 4 months before the draft. Admittedly I didn’t proofread it so I apologize if the argument intertwined. I think the medical staff should be held accountable for this BS.

If Ron is retained...chaos.

As I said, I can deal with it if Hurney and the medical staff are canned and Ron gets 1 year with a top notch medical staff and a health team that doesn’t let players play with career threatening injuries.

Their medical clearance very well might’ve ended Daryl Williams and Cam Newton’s career.

I feel likewe had a solid roster when we started the season. KK being gone really hurt worse than we expected. Because when we lost him, we gave up big yards on the ground.I believe he created space for Luke to have perfect angles at the RB. Cam needs to be kept. Even though we are playing absolutely horrid at times we are still in the game except the 49ers game. We are gashed by the run and we still are in the game. I realize we look horrible and sometimes in all 3 phases but at he end of every game we choke. We have the talent, we have the team just I feel like Norv is the problem and injuries. We just need to get a good pick and get healthy. We were leading the league in sacks but I feel like McCoy is doing it alone and Butler has shown some spark but is nothing more than a 3rd 4th rotation piece.

There is no way Rivera should be coaching this team next season.

He should not be here if the medical staff is here.  He should not be here if the medical staff is there.  He should not be here if Hurney is nowhere.  Ron should be elsewhere.....maybe a Bear.

I won't get into Seuss-like rhymes for Hurney.  He isn't worth the effort.

He's not being retained.  Just try to enjoy watching the last 4 games and rooting CMC and DJ on.

Honestly nothing matters beyond individual performances.  Hope CMC can set some records and DJ can finish in the top 5 for receiving yards.

Hopefully Ian Thomas finally gets some significant playing time.  Want to see more of Marquis Haynes and Christian Miller.

Would like to see Kyle Allen end the season on a high note for his confidence going into next year as our backup.

Would like to get our offensive line healthy enough to see if Little, Daley, Paradis, Turner, and Moton can actually be a functional unit.  It's hard to articulate how disappointing Paradis and Turner have been this year.

Long-term, it was known the team was going to have to regroup on the defensive side after the season giving all the pending FA's.

The offensive line was supposed to be solidified with the resources that were invested.

I'm not exonerating Kyle Allen completely for his performance by any stretch, but he was put in a lot of tough situational football yesterday.  We couldn't effectively run the ball, especially on 1st down, and the Redskins could blitz heavily on 2nd and 3rd down b/c of it.  And they were effective doing it.  Giving up 6 sacks to the Redskins was almost as bad as the run defense getting demolished.

That really is the most disappointing part of the season, personnel-wise.  I truly thought (as I'm sure Rivera & Hurney did) that both lines were going to better this year.

And while injuries haven't helped, the lines haven't been great even when healthy.

This team is certainly not devoid of talent outside on the lines, but that is no small thing.  The Saints do not have the offensive firepower they have had in year's past, but they are strong on both lines.

We have an all-Pro RB and an emerging star WR.  But even with a healthy Cam, I'm not sure we would have been a SB team with our line play.

That has to be the main area of focus in the offseason IMO, yet again.  And while a new coach and scheme may help some, we've got to get tougher and more physical regardless of who it is.

We've gone from a team in 2015 where reporters were saying our opponents needed days to recover from the physicality we imposed to a 2 win team slicing through us like butter.

John Matsko needs to go. Moton is looking like a bum - it is a sign that coaching is the problem.

    • I just want to see a big guy with an NFL certified cannon arm suit up for the panthers again. To me, it will show that they are at least  trying to take the QB position in the direction it needs to go.   Will he throw picks? Yes. Probably a hell of a lot, but (for now) I’m strangely ok with that… for now. I at least need to see a dude that CAN make the throws with some semblance of accuracy.  This is the time to see what the QB whisperer is made of. The offensive talent is there. It’s certainly better than most rookie/journeymen QBs will ever step in to. If he can get a random dude playing at a JAG level, then I might be sold.  Andy could really surprise in the Buffalo game. He (for now) still has enough arm for Tet and XL to show what they’ve got, but we all know it’s only going to be good for 3-4 games, max. He has vet savvy, and that does account for a lot. He also has a full week of practice with all the snaps to prepare.  My best case scenario going forward: Andy plays the next 2 games nobly (winning one would be a huge bonus) giving White a chance to learn some of the playbook and develop chemistry with the players. Serviceable Andy turns in to old man Andy in game 3 and White takes the field after halftime.  A high ankle sprain (lol, sure it is) is an injury that can buy the team a LONG time for BY to ride the pine…. Maybe even IR. His peak trade value is now. Get what they can for this albatross. He’s now shown that he can be a mid level backup which does hold a significant value for the right team.  Not even in my wildest dreams do I see White being anything more than a JAG, but that’s ok. JAGs with a big arm make great bridge QBs that at least won’t have your play makers stagnating. Keeping BY under center is a 100% recipe for stagnating high ceiling (Tet/XL) dudes and/or not allowing them to take the next step in their development. Why even practice the good half of the playbook if the QB can’t make the throw? After a while, you’ve now got high ceiling guys who can only run a limited route tree. No thanks.
    • They both outstanding players and both had monster games against Jets.  We gonna need it again this week with the bills.  Go Panthers!!!!
