Idk man...  McDaniels may have learned quite a bit on his return to NE, but he looked to be in way over his head in Denver.  And the Belichick coaching tree isn't exactly impressive.

So apparently, the Panthers inquired about McDaniels and Caserio last year. Maybe Tepper used a search firm and the interest leaked to the media.

So now we've got buzz about Kevin Colbert that's coming out of Pittsburgh and buzz about Nick Caserio and Josh McDaniels that's coming out of Foxboro.

This offseason is shaping up to be really interesting.

Living in Colorado during the McDaniels/Broncos debacle, I can't even put into words what poo show it was. I'm talking Lane Kiffin/Raiders level poo show. It got their entire organization gutted.

I honestly like it and would be ecstatic if we got Colbert and Khan on board and Caserio to be this assistant Gm role and demote Hurney. I also believe McDaniels would bring on Patricia as Defensive coordinator if/when he is fired

I'm not a fan of retreads, but it is fair to note that guys like Marv Levy and Bill Belichick didn't exactly light It up in their first head coaching jobs either.

Plus McDaniels was working under Elway before. Maybe working under Nick Caserio or Kevin Colbert makes a difference.

Not my first choice either, but who knows?

Little history

Perhaps JMD was not exactly the right call or didn't fit with the Denver club as he flexed on them with his roster moves and being the big cheese.

 

I don't think that will fly with Tepper. See his FO shakeups coming interviews. Tepper will not want one bright guy doing everything. 

 

If JMD is the guy, he will not be given the freedoms he was awarded before. If that does work for JMD then he won't work for Tepper. 

 

Also his last about face was as much about family and staying with the pats vs moving and being a HC. Are we sure after 1 year he's ready to be a HC? Maybe he wants more pats FO and staff to follow?
