DJ Moore is #3 in the NFL in receiving yards at 22 years old

He's also likely to break Larry Fitzgerald's record for receiving yards before the age of 23, despite the fact he got limited snaps in the first half of his rookie year.    So that would make him, statistically, the most dominant young wide receiver in NFL history (a record that has stood for 15 years despite how pass happy the league has gotten).

Now consider the fact he's been able to do this catching passes from Kyle Allen (and an injured Cam Newton who couldn't throw deep).  In addition, he's on a team with a terrible pass blocking line, which limits the time the QB has to throw deep.  He would very likely be leading the NFL in receiving yards if he was in the Saints offense, and he's 22 years old.

Raw yardage aside, PFF has him graded as elite, he's one of the most efficient WRs in the NFL in various analytic measures, and has the 6th lowest drop rate in the NFL out of qualified wide outs.

I understand people are despondent over this season, but it's looking like we might have what will turn out to be the best wide receiver in the NFL in years to come (given he's already third at only 22).

If he stays healthy, he will likely shatter Steve Smith's team records.

He's definitely a bright spot for us.  Whoever ends up our coach, assuming it's an offensive guy, has got to be looking at DJ and CMC and going "Yea, this team can score some points".

One of the few bright spots. It is nice to have some nice youth to build on, but we need a lot to go with it.

Or that he's somehow not a "true #1 wide receiver", despite the fact he's having the most statistically dominant years for any wide receiver of his age in NFL history.

I'm not sure what it is about Moore's playing style that causes people to underrate him to the degree they do;  I think people are stuck in another decade where your WR1 needed to be 6'4.

Well it's pretty simple.

When your starting quarterback is performing at a historically bad level, you're going to lose a ton of games.

I mean no doubt am I excited about DJ’s growth and performance but to say he’ll smash Smittys records is still a stretch. I mean even the eye test still says DJ isn’t as unreal or as fast as Smith was. Or maybe Steve just looks faster because he’s shorter. But DJ looks great out there. Hopefully the #1 we’ve been looking for.

DJ Moore looks like the truth. Glad we have him. I like that it takes more than one person to bring him down. He's like a quiet smitty in that regard.

He's very quiet. Doesn't talk a lot. Not all about the drip. Doesn't do flashy celebrations. (Oh, And he hasn't had many TDs relative to his yards..., so not on a lot of highlight reels)

Probably not a bad thing for such a young kid. Earn the right to be vocal and swaggy through your play.

DJ has really impressed me. Excited about his future.

DJ's definitely bucked up over the span of this season. To start with he was as soft as Curtis out there. He's toughened up noticeably, and he's turned into what Smitty saw in him.

He needs to keep it up. I still question his ball security at times, but he's done a lot of good work at becoming more consistent and playing tough.

I won't crown him as anything compared to Smitty right now, but if he keeps it up he could be one of the great ones.
