What if all teams only hired coaches with head coaching experience?  There would be no coaches.  Secondly, you are basically suggesting that we hire someone who was fired from another job.  Of course EB is a gamble, as is any other coach.  If you target only the things you predetermine to be negatives, then who is your candidate?  I imagine anyone has concerns.    Wow.

Biggest concern is that with the exception of Green Bay, all first year coaches had losing records regardless of previous experience. Now compound it with someone who doesn't even call plays in the NFL on either side of the ball and you have a whole bunch of risk without any guarantee of a better outcome compared to other choices with head coach experience. If Tepper stays true to his analytics you balance risk with reward. I clearly see the risk, I just don't see what he brings compared to other choices with less risk.

And remember any coach worth their salt has been fired. Even Belicheck was fired from Cleveland.

Yeah one of my favorite quotes from him was that he coaches backups to take the starters’ job. He instills that mindset in them.

With injuries and the salary cap, the best coaches must do this.  Good point.

He brings all of the positives that Ron Rivera offered (leadership, former player, players coach) and has the ability to coach a modern NFL offense.

He is the perfect candidate for this team and I would love to see him work with Cam Newton.

No.  There is an interview where they explain the process.  But if you decide he is an apprentice, who are we to argue?

One interview, I can post links upon links saying how Reid has full control over the offense. The only time Reid stopped calling plays was back in 17 late season with Nagy and he started calling them again the playoffs

I'm not sold on rookie HCs especially since we are in some form of rebuilding.  OJT isn't an option..  Had this been an issue of Rivera's contract running out and we had a fairly stable roster? Sure.  I think we have way too many variables going on simultaneously for a rookie HC to juggle.

I just think this is the coach we need.  Read up on him.  Here is an interview with him.  "A leader of men" Andy Reid calls him.  I was not impressed at all at first--then I did my homework.  Not going to give you all the information, but this gives you some idea of what we would be getting:

One thing to consider is, the success of Andy Reid.  Some of the most successful coaches were under studies of successful coaches.
