So far, the NFL experienced people we are bringing in doesn't seem very impresive. Berry would have been a huge hit. Im not against the college people we have brought in, i was just hoping for a Wade Phillips type and not the three we brought in. Meh

They're bringing in a lot of guys that performed so well at their jobs, that they were eventually promoted beyond their abilities. The good thing is, it sounds like the Panthers are hiring them at the positions they originally excelled at.

I still think Berry will end up with the Panthers. There's just as much uncertainty, but definitely more excitement surrounding the Panthers. And there's no Jimmy Haslam here.

Regarding Linehan's options, CBS Sports says it's rumored that Jason Garrett is the frontrunner for the OC job in New York. Garrett and Linehan were close in Dallas (his firing was forced on Garrett by Jerry Jones) so if Garrett gets that job, Linehan might join him as QB Coach.

Tepper is still new and raw. I hope for the best but I'm not ready to make that proclimation. We need it to be true but there are too many owners out there being their own worst enemy.

As for the coaches, i was just hoping someone that had succeded in their promotions would be brought in. Could be great or placeholders for the better coaches coming in to get more experience. That will probibly work out long term but its hardly exciting. Wade for 2 years would have been electric.

I hope you are right about Berry, he appears to be a stud but if he goes to Clevland i have to question his intelegence given that complete poopshow. Their structure screams nightmane.

To be fair, if they had succeeded in their promotions, they probably wouldn't be available.

The assistant ranks are full of guys who failed at the next step but are still really really good at the prior step. Take Dick LeBeau, lousy head coach but one of the best defensive coordinators in league history.

McCoy is a dud and a negative, the other two? Maybe. Again, Wade might be done at this point but that would have been a bullseye for a couple of years to turn around a decimated and directionless D. Of all of those types of coaches out there, the three we brought in are not very exciting, at least yet.

I think the problem with Wade is his personality. He gets canned regularly but keeps getting jobs because he’s talented but he’s a pain in the ass. So maybe Rhule just isn’t interested in him knowing it’s not a likely long term guy.

FYI: Reports that are coming out are definitely starting to make it look like this year's staffing structure is gonna be a little funky compared to what we're used to.

Funky in perhaps a good way though. I don't have any problem with these guys on the ship, just at the helm.

Does this mean after the draft, we’ll start looking for a GM to replace Hurney?

Makes sense.  A lot of teams seem to be taking that, where they wait until after the draft to change the GM.

Berry would be a good hire.

I'm of the opposite mindset.

Why let a GM who's on the way out and will not be held accountable fug up a draft, only to hire someone and all they can do is watch until the next draft/FA period to try to fix anything.
