Hopefully Tepper and the Panthers management made it crystal clear to Luke that they want him to continue to be involved with the team and are even willing to create a  new position for him if they have to.

I beg to disagree.  Luke would feel far more allegiance to the Panthers, and the brothers he has on that defense, than to Rivera, who never did a thing for him -- didn't draft him, didn't pay him.

I think there's maybe never been a more straight-up guy than Luke, and if he chooses to coach, you'd better believe it'll be for his "home team."
