Jameis Winston underwent LASIK surgery to repair his vision

Jameis Winston underwent LASIK surgery to repair his vision.

It's not a game-changer, but it is notable with Winston eyeing (no pun intended) a new contract. The 26-year-old has infamously squinted as a result of being nearsighted throughout his career, leading coach Bruce Arians to state he "can’t read the scoreboard but he can see the guys in front of him" in his final press conference. Winston led the NFL with 5,109 passing yards and 33 touchdowns last year but is obviously having his decision-making questioned for the 30 picks that went with those marks. It's unknown if anyone associated with the team requested Winston have the surgery.

It blows my mind that the dude chose to play football without being able to see for poo. Why?

Then again, maybe his vision wasn't that bad and his agent told him, "Look man, we gotta do something for me to try to be able to explain why you threw it to the wrong fuging team 30 times last season."

Yea he could've put a pair of glasses on is rookie season

    • This is what I mean. I am not some huge BY fan. I honestly don't look at QBs the way a lot of you guys do. Right or wrong, I've always looked at them as just another cog in the machine. Didn't want BY or even a trade up for a QB in 2023. We saw in the Super Bowl how important the rest of the team is on any given Sunday. Now... so PFF, who has no reason to prop up BY, says he's first in 2 stat lines and Panthers "fans" are arguing why it's either wrong or a made up stat just to make BY look good. Even though they have multiple stat lines where he's literally last in. Like 32nd in the NFL. Some he's even lower than 32. Take a step back. Try to objectively self analyze. This is just not sensible.  Same thing I see with other teams' fans and their QBs though. We analyze every single throw on every single play. For every other QB, most here are only using highlights to judge. Makes a difference. We saw Stafford miss throws when they played Carolina - both games. We saw Love throw crap up when they played Carolina. We saw Dak miss throws when they played Carolina - and Pickens was putting on a SHOW. We saw Josh Allen win a game with 163 yards passing against Carolina, but if BY does it he's crap and can't pass for 200 yards. Gents... come on.
    • None of us think we're contenders this season but no reason we're doomed to 5 or 6 wins either. Dan has to have another 2025- like draft class and at least 2 key free agent signings. We're not Seattle but they don't win without 5 starters from their last 2 draft classes and Darnold and Lawrence in free agency.  Alas,  we'll have to wait one more season for a QB upgrade.
    • I've got nothing else to say really than: Ayup. Here we are again. Again.  All we can really hope for is progress. If we improve as much again, it'll be good. If we don't, it'll be foretold.
