call me when he gets traded. this is the same we not sure maybe he gets traded poo we been hearing all off season.

You realize that March is probably the earliest we could trade Cam, right?  In other words, you sound as if you are skeptical because it has not happened yet--when it is too soon.

I agree, and I could be 100% wrong I'm just trying not to read to much into any of these things because no one knows. That's been the answer for months now and it's still the case.all these articles are what some one thinks not stone cold facts.

On the other hand, would they write an article about Cam staying when that is not really news?  This could be nothing more than a rumor--or maybe Tepper is floating Cam for a ridiculous offer that he may not get--popcorn time.

Dysfunction?  They dont have a choice

This is actually the most functional we’ve ever been imo. I’ve never felt that the front office has as much direction as they do right now. Hurney has tried patch work rebuilds in the past and holding on for dear life. It was time that someone came in (Tepper/Rhule) and said...”even with players X we’re not winning a super bowl.”

You think a 31 yo Cam without a defense that has Keuchly, Star, Peppers, TD etc is going to compete with Mahomes, Wentz, 49ers? Not to mention Brees in our own division? No way. We’re not winning in the playoffs with this roster. We’re not even winning a wild card spot with this roster. By the time it’s built back up Cam could be 33-34 and that’s not Brady at 33. It’s like McNabb at 33.

This is a homer take viewed through rose colored lenses.

Publicly through all this drama with Cam our front office looks dysfunctional at best.

Hopefully we get some type of resolution by April. If the Panthers decide to trade Cam, there needs to be a successor in place. I am against the idea of using Kyle Allen or Will Grier as a stop gap and tanking for 2021 draft.

Prepare to be disappointed. That’s how a successor will get here.

If they wait until FA nobody is going to trade for him because they will all have their starting QB by then.

If they are serious about moving him they should get a deal done now. Once Brady/Rivers/Bridgewater/Winston sign you're only looking at Cincinnati/Miami as the only other teams who will need a QB and they are likely to draft Burrow/Tua.

Only team I think would even trade for Cam is probably Chicago. Everybody else could wait for FA because they have the cap space to get other QB's on the market.

Im not even sure if Cam is the best option on the trade market either. Stafford could also be available and he at this point is a better option than Cam.

It seems like it's going to be tricky actually trading Cam. I think we will probably just cut him outright.

I been saying this all along.

The best time to trade him is right now. If we wait until after FA there will be no starting spots available. Therefore it will be no market for Cam. If he's still on the roster after FA we will just cut him.

My gut tells me Chicago is the team that will trade for him. I can't see anybody else even entertaining it when they can just get a QB in FA.

Can't wait for this topic to end.   Cam has little trade value.  He has not played in close to two full seasons, and because of last year, the jury is still out on if he shoulder can hold up for an entire season..... so no one is trading much value for Cam AND the Panthers NEED a QB.  When you look at the options they have going into next season right now Cam is their best option.  Worst case scenario they are right where they are just a year later.

What are you hoping to accomplish by trading Cam?

Go look up Sam Bradford trade... Look at his injury history before that trade was made. Cam's shoulder is not the issue here, it is the foot. The Panthers can likely put medical records out for interested suiters. If Cam has little trade value, he needs to be cut for the same reason he has little trade value... if he isn't worth even a 2nd, time to go bye bye. The Panthers NEED a lot more to win in 2020, it would require restructuring deals out the ass to open the cap space to win 10-12 games in 2020 under a new HC and OC... Cam will have rust no matter what... I'd rather get a extra pick to fix the offensive line. We don't have the talent to win a Super Bowl, best case scenario is a miracle 10-6 year with a divisional road loss and Cam holding out for 5 years 200 million at 32.

    • okay I found this and it sounds like my hopes for the first surgery being not such a great job seems like it could be actual reality.  I only hoped because that would give a better chance for recovery and ia a possible scenario so I just thought it could be possible. Had no real evidence of it. But I’ll be damned.    This is a detailed report of Brooks’ surgery and the condition of his knee after the failed repair.     https://x.com/jmthrivept/status/2055743129408704806?s= Sparked by some very good questions by @CoachspeakIndex, here’s some info on Jonathon Brooks: 1. Speculation that the first graft/ACLR by Dr. Cooper didn’t “take” or at least was too lax, leading to failure and re-tear. Brooks dealt with issues cutting, progressing in his rehab into the early stages of 2024 and then re-tore it late 2024, requiring a second ACLR in January 2025 (essentially revision). Notably, CAR prolonged Brooks’ rehab process through Sept-Oct due to issues progressing into the next stages of rehab. 2. Second surgery performed by Dr. Neal ElAttrache, who has extensive experience with revisions. He did a double bundle technique, harvesting graft from Brooks’ left patellar tendon and a strip of his right IT Band (his right patellar tendon had been utilized for the prior graft in 2023. The double bundle technique significantly increases rotational stability of the knee, leading to a stronger and more secure graft/reconstruction. Also to note, Brooks’ surgery wasn’t significantly delayed, meaning that the tunnels from his prior ACLR were in good shape and they didn’t need to perform bone grafts to fill in (would have delayed 2nd surgery by 5-6 months). Essentially, reading the tea leaves tells me that everything else except for the graft itself was still in good quality within his knee. Good sign for future.  3. Typically, you see a performance increase anywhere from 16-20 months post-revision. Brooks will be ~21 months out from his second surgery by the time Week 1 hits. His knee should be more stable and stronger this time around, with adequate time for healing and return to all movement patterns. I’m not viewing this situation as a typical “Player __ had TWO ACL tears, he’s cooked” situation. Rather, I’m viewing it as the first procedure failed, but the second procedure is significantly stronger and should allow him to return to form this time around. I don’t know why it posted as a link but there it is.
    • Jackie, any more reps tomorrow, or is that it for this session?  thanks for the work
    • How can you say they aren’t trying to win now with all the moves made in free agency? Or is trading first round picks the only way to be win now? I’d be fine never trading another first round pick again, win now be damned.
