Wish him well with his next team (except when they play us).

Why would we let Gamble 2.0 leave and what in the world would we do going into next season with just Jackson. The cap will be going up big with the next cba and we will be able to get rid of a few overpriced vets after next season to open up even more cap space

I'm not necessarily talking about what should happen.

I'm talking about what I believe will happen.

The general belief is that we won't use the Franchise Tag on Bradberry. That being the case, i doubt we keep him.

James Bradberry is the rock at the cornerback position. The one we can depend on to almost always stick to the number one WR. He has held his own against the top wide receivers in the league, and most importantly our division. He is young and has turned into one of the top cornerbacks in the league (top 15 for sure, debatable top 10 in my opinion.) with our team rebuilding, do we pay him top dollar that he is looking for? If we do, he can absolutely be a building block on a young team who will be in our 5 year plan. If not, what in the world are we going to do at CB with only the Inconsistent play of Jackson going into next season to depend/not depend on?  Another question: If we don’t re sign him, would we be crazy to not tag him and trade him? We know we will get a comp third based on the contract he will be getting, but with Sanu going to the Patriots for a 2nd round pick, surely we can get a 2nd for a CB like Bradberry in his prime.

Do you pay someone 15 mil a year as the top paid corner of the NFL who statistically is more worth 12.5 and is ranked 15-20? Conserving we already overpaid shaq...

I honestly wish we didn’t have to overpay anyone. Need to be better at evaluating talent.

Bardberry, while solid, will never be a top CB in the NFL.

Most of the time you have to be competitive innfreee agency and that leads to overpaying some. We have to decide if that 2.5 you mentioned is worth completely rebuilding yet another position on this team, and heading into next year with just Jackson. I also disagree that he is ranked 15-20 as a cb. He locks down the best wide receivers in the NFL, and in our own division twice per year. Can you name 14 better cornerbacks much less 19?

    • I was playing around with the ESPN playoff predictor and it shows if 49ers and Rams finish with same record, the Rams hold the tiebreaker.
    • This is my thinking as well. Seattle played as good as they could on defense and Panthers still had a chance until those back to back turnovers.  I don't think the Rams played particularly well in their game against us, alot things went our way in order to win.  Someone pointed out the Rams were bad on the east coast road games and Seattle has been the better road team but they just fought a hard contested game against the Panthers, and now they travel to San Fran this week for their biggest game of the season to determine the division and if they are the overall #1 seed in the NFC or will be traveling for the Wildcard weekend.  If they lose they then travel back cross the country to play a team they've just beaten two weeks ago, not saying they won't be favored against the Panthers but the energy of hosting our first playoff game in 10 years along with the get back effect of having just lost to this team could be huge.
    • I don’t know about shadowing and all that, but according to this, whatever we are doing is working
