March 10th is the tag deadline...what will we do with Bradberry?

James Bradberry is the rock at the cornerback position. The one we can depend on to almost always stick to the number one WR. He has held his own against the top wide receivers in the league, and most importantly our division. He is young and has turned into one of the top cornerbacks in the league (top 15 for sure, debatable top 10 in my opinion.) with our team rebuilding, do we pay him top dollar that he is looking for? If we do, he can absolutely be a building block on a young team who will be in our 5 year plan. If not, what in the world are we going to do at CB with only the Inconsistent play of Jackson going into next season to depend/not depend on?  Another question: If we don’t re sign him, would we be crazy to not tag him and trade him? We know we will get a comp third based on the contract he will be getting, but with Sanu going to the Patriots for a 2nd round pick, surely we can get a 2nd for a CB like Bradberry in his prime.

Tag him, gotta see how he fits in snow’s system and also gives us time to pick a replacement in day 2(barring okudah at 7).

$16,022,000 Would be dedicated to him. With our current limited cap that would be rough, but if we cut Poe we will be close to 40 million available.

Rough but best way to see if he’s worthy of keeping long term while avoiding creating another hole on the team.

If we pick Brown he is cut immediately...not sure why Poe hasn't been cut already to be honest.

its Just a matter of time but I don’t see any way he stays with us. With so many holes on the team, if we re sign Bradberry we can really deep dive into our lines and Find a linebacker to pair with Shaq. If we let him go that’s yet another major position where we have a huge hole.

Can’t wait for the draft to make a decision. He has a 2.5M roster bonus that becomes guaranteed on March 15. Have to cut him before that.

    • Sometimes its fun to read the threads/posts.  The panthers could literally hire a groundskeeper and we'd have a thread "improving the field for no other reason to prop up Bryce Young".  Apparently no move is ever done to actually make the team better.  All a conspiracy to just focus on Bryce Young. Or suddenly daydreaming and reminiscing about Sam Darnold when he was hated more than Bryce Young.  Its really fun to do a message board search about Darnold during that time period.   Or thinking there is just a tree that grows QB, and you can just easily go up and pluck one.
    • Yeah okay. We as an organization have been more patient with him than many. And there has been a small parade of guys drafted since he was, also to bad teams, that have passed him. Some have lapped him. As a fan I am out of patience but he gets this year it is out of my hands always has been. I just hope the bar is higher than it has been for him.    FWIW, XL dropped two passes last year. He did do some other bad stuff, just saying.
    • Except it takes those QB's a few years to develop because they needed to learn the mental side of the game and have it catch up to their physical attributes. Bryce was supposed to be a QB savant who already had a fully developed mental side of the game and that was going to make up for his lack of physical ability.  And his lack of NFL level QB physical traits has been clear as day to anyone who has watched him the last 3 years, mainly, he just doesn't have an NFL arm, he can't zip the ball into tight spaces or throw on a line down the field like is needed at this level.
